Season Record updated: 0-1 (0%)

Starting off the season with a BIG PLAY...

Depaul +3.5 (-115) loss
The upperclassmen backcourt for the Blue Demons will take over this game. The Bluejays lost their top 3 scorers from last season (combined 42 pts per game) and the 3 seniors they do have barely saw the floor last year. NO WAY they can match the talent level of their opponent this evening. I was high on Depaul last year and think they will finally break out and be a team to consider come tourney time. Really don't think they need the points, but will take them and smile ... :)

Let's start the season off with a winner!

Good Luck Everyone.

Mully, I'm a big DePaul backer (alum and season ticket holder).

Mat Poscic isn't in their backcourt, but will be big for DePaul this year. He's a JuCo transfer that gives them some legit size. Along with the talented freshman Mac Koshwal, the Blue Demons have some inside force they have lacked for many years. Under-achieving senior Wes Green is also rumored to be poised for a better season.

Dar Tucker is another talented freshman that will get notice in the backcourt. This guy is electrifying with his play.

Still undecided about this play on a side perspective. I like DePaul to play more as a team this year, but they are integrating a lot of new components. Creighton is definitely less talented, but they played some pre-season games up in Canada that amounts to them having some additional practices. That could prove beneficial as I feel Wainwright is still trying to determine the right rotations to play for DePaul.

The Over is a definite play in this game. DePaul will play a more up-tempo game despite losing Chandler and Mejia from last year's team. Also Creighton showed they can score in their Canadian games and appears to be a typical Altman team that can shoot well.

That would be Blue Demons not Demon Deacons.

Sorry. Thanks for pointing that out. Sometimes my mind takes a vacation. They can be the Blue Deacons for all I care...They still cover tonight.

GL to you this season..

Mully, don't worry about it. Despite the score you weren't far off in this one. DePaul is talented, just really young and need to gel together. I was worried this is the way it would work out for DePaul tonight. I don't expect them to be much more than an NIT team this year, but there will be definite spots that surprise you when they play like a good team in the Big East.

Creighton, this should be expected. Altman getting the most out of a team that isn't super talented, but when they play team ball, watch out. I'm not saying they will take the world by storm, far from it. I expect them to be a middle of the pack MVC team.

GL the rest of the season. Feel free to get my email from jack or IE if you want some DePaul insight before making a play.
