i am posting this now as i feel there is some merit; however small that may be.
i've gone back and forth for a couple of weeks whether to post it or not, (for several reasons) , but with a full month and a half of tracking it, i felt it couldn't hurt. i am also posting in case someone is aware of any potential trainwreck i may be in for, or as i believe, that everything comes back to the mean.
i've been playing it small since the beginning of this season. it is basically this...
play under the lowest opening line total as long as it stands alone and there are 5 or more games on the slate. (i've been using one site consistantly for opening lines). may sound silly, as totals in hockey are typically between 5 and 6, but i look at the money involved.
example, if there are 5 games on the board and three of them have the lowest total of 5, but OPEN as 5u20, 5 and 5o20. i only play under the game that opened @ 5u20.
if the lowest total on the board does not stand alone, two or more open exactly the same, (5u20 for example), i do not play anything that night.
if i lose, i doubled my play the following qualifying night, and if that lost i tripled the original play the following qualifying night. now i've only come into these last two scenerios once each, so i have no real rhyme or reason, or even know if i would raise it higher if i lose three in a row (at that point i would be down 6 units plus vig.). i'm not one to chase and would probably play no more that 3 units.
october plays overall 9-2-2
october double plays - 0-1
october triple plays - 1-0
october + 8 units*
october losses:
(10.24 minny/calgary 5o10 - final 5-3)
(10.26 san jose/detroit 5.5u30 - final 5-1)
november plays overall 3-1-5
november +1.80 units
OVERALL 12-3-7 +9.80 UNITS
as it stands i currently have a double unit play on deck, with the november loss being last night on the rangers/devils under.
no play tonight, as two games opened at 5o15.
* units are approximate, but pretty much exact, as the total played came with juice (more or less), or -110, depending whether i played it online or with my local.
(edit was for totalling my units incorrectly)
