DVD player purchase any ideas??

I tried to do a search to see if this has been brought up but for some reason it wouldn't let me use the term DVD???

I have had a Mitsubishi progressive scan High Def DVD player for 7 years...It treated me real well. However it has finally bit the bullet. Won't load any movies, keeps saying disc error when they play fine on my othr DVD players, etc....

Any advice on a new one. I love the Mistubishi line but I bought that player for about 700 bucks in 2000 when I bought my Hi def TV, Bose system, and Direct tv High def dish...

I don't watch as many movies as I used to. Very rarely actually so I'm not looking to spend 700 bucks again...We have some real cheap models in the house (kids room, my bedroom (which is in my man cave now on my high def system but the player is not hi def)...

Not looking to break the bank but looking for what you guys have to say...thanks in advance

if you can get the HD-A2 for a cheaper price, get it. no real difference in picture quality between the 2.

and the A2's go for around $99 right now.

dont forget your mail in rebate for 5 free HD-DVD's. and if you buy it at best buy, you can get "300" and Bourne Supremacy" in the box with the player, +2 more off the shelf.

I saw the AD 2 on ebay for about 130 with shipping...but I am gonna go to best buy today to see if I can snag one...
