Its in the hands of the voters......do they actually sit down and really give the time and rank the teams based on their resume, how good they are and how good they're playing now.
Or, do they just blindly elevate teams because, well, these guys were 3 last week and these guys were 4 last week, so lets push them up.
If they vote their conscience, the top three ought to be, in any particular order, LSU, USC, Oklahoma.....those are the champs also in the top three leagues in the land.
In the end, Oklahoma is coming from too far behind on the rail to really leap up.....and USC has that Stanford loss on their resume which may haunt them.....UGA and KU have to be discounted as they did not win their leagues or even divisions.....Va Tech can not overcome the beatdown vs LSU back in September.
LSU, having that win over VaTech has the most impressive non conference win of all of them.....only losses in 3 OT.
Ohio State will get in because they werent challenged enough in a weak big 10.....will voters punish them for that.....does anyone see them staying at 3 in the polls, meaning some combo of teams pass them up....I'm not sure if I was a voter, I would have them in my top-2!
Honestly, lets then do this the old way, no BCS, traditional bowl pairings and lets just vote it out in January. That way, at least, more than two teams can still stake a claim.....but to select two teams out of this mess is just not going to make anyone happy or truly solve what we are trying to determine every fall---and that is which is the best team.
