Auto accident questions

Hi Guys

Unfortunately got into my first car accident this morning. Was in unfamilar part of town and was looking at signs etc.. to figure out how to get out. Accidently ran a red light and hit another car. No injuries. The other driver was driving an unregistered vehicle.

Like I said this is my first accident. What things should I be worried about? Any suggestions? I just don't know what to worry about. Like if other driver claims to be hurt later etc......

I'm assuming you are properly insured?? If so, turn it in, and you'll most likely never hear another word about it.

Yes I am completely insured properly. My vehicle was completely registered. The person I hits vehicle was unregistered. I have police report etc.... What do you mean turn it in?

call your insurance agent or company to report the accident & send them a copy (make sure you keep a copy) of the police report...& your insurance rep. will instruct you what to do next..

Also wondering if there are any reprocutions for the other driver having an unregistered vehicle (guess they stopped paying the registration)?

Also at what point do they determine if a car is totaled?

Just worried that something will happen because the accident is my fault. Also wondering what will happen with my car. Thanks guys

They figure the amount of damage and the worth of your car to determine whether or not in is totaled.

Don't worry about whay will happen. That's why you have insurance.

I know you're worried because it was your first accident. It happns to everyone, just be thankful nobody was hurt.
