Florida Keys Fishing Tournie...

What a Blast I had when 2 of 3 brothers and another friend were in the Keys last week from KC. Thanks to Jack for the links to pics on my past few threads!

On to the pics....at the dock early Sun am fishing for live bait...Tom catches a green moray eel...no points...tournie hasn't started

we head offshore...1 mile out, I let a line out on my bait-caster to re-wind it, trolling speed...rig it with a ballyhoo...Cuda hits it before anyone knows I have a line out....and the MF's start:mj07: ...didn't boat the cuda...

5 miles out we are at Davis Reef...big sailfish tournie this weekend and a bunch of BIG boats in the area...

Every picture tells a story....I'm out for a smoke...the big 'uns are coming

:mj07: this may take some time...they left this am and just back from Happy Hour....but here goes.....

We make it to Davis Reef, 5 miles offshore, my 1st time there....and I'm the guide....problem with the bait...

Shrimp bucket in the live well with the bait fish knocks the drain stick out of the well...when we anchor...bait fish are dead...some shrimp alive...but we are fishing.

Tom (big bro) catches bait fish...leads the tournie and never turns back.

Fish after fish, small, but they count on on tournie set-up....about 11 am....BAM 3 out of 4 of us think we are hooked up...all 3 druncles have something tugging....I'm on the stern (back), Mike is on the starboard (right) side, Tom on the port (left)...

Miike & Tom have their lines tangled, Mike boats a 3 foot Lemon Shark...while I'm still tugging...then :scared :scared :scared HOLY CHIT ...

Back at the dock with another nice Mutton...for 3rd place...

a final Sunset at the Lor~e~Lei

and a final beer at Whale Harbor last night...

The 3 of 'em flew out this am back to KC...back to work for me tomorrow...Thanks Jack!

BAD...do you ever go after the Mutton w/light tackle..

I Largemouth fish at least 60 days a year and have always wanted to fish those beautiful waters of Fla. w/10-12 lb test w/a low profile baitcaster..

Very interested to know..

I caught and released over 100 Largemouth this year..Sure would like to hook up on a 12 lb. Mutton..

Used to go out of Carabelle frequently on a buddy's boat. Grouper, mackeral and snapper all the time.

OS....Mutton much like bass...you've caught more than me..just getting back to fishin'....shark biggest fugger I ever caught (& released all the sharks)...come on down sometime OS...coffee pot set, going to bed and work tomorrow.....once again:mj07:
