Optimistic? Slightly..

He is naive, quit talking about change all the damn time, what are you gonna do to lead that change.

Ain't nothing wrong with talkin. Might wanna ask the 4000 dead US soldiers if we shoulda talked before shootin. Stupid cowboys use their fists and guns. Smart men use their brains first and their fists as a last resort.

Don't need to know nuttin else.

Smart men use their intellect and live in the real world. Stupid men don't trust intellectuals, prey on fear and emotion and get their advice from spooks in the spiritual world.

Evil don't come at ya with horns, a pitched fork and a tail. It comes at ya in a tailored suit with an American flag on the lapel tellin how good and rightous it is.

You sit down with your enemy. You out think him. You out smart him. You do the right thing for your citizens. Unless of course, you can't out think him or out smart him. Then you bomb him and create a whole lot more enemies.

Brilliant.

Power don't come from a badge or a gun. Power comes from lying. Lying big, and gettin' the whole damn world to play along with you. Once you got everybody agreeing with what they know in their hearts ain't true, you've got e'm by the balls.

Dawg, Ize gots no problem with resolution 678. Howzever, there is an issue as to whether the security counsel authorized this invasion.

There is a heated debate if the invasion was launched with the explicit authorization of the United Nations Security Council. The Government of the United States believes that the invasion was explicitly authorized by Security Council Resolution 678 and thus complies with international law.[3] There is no debate that Security Council Resolution 678 authorizes UN Member States "to use all necessary means to uphold and implement resolution 660 and all subsequent relevant resolutions and to restore international peace and security in the area." [4], just debate about what that resolution actually means. The only legal jurisdiction to find "aggression" or to find the invasion illegal rests with the Security Council under United Nations Charter Articles 39-42. The Security Council met in 2003 for two days, reviewed the legal claims involved, and elected to be "seized of the matter".[5] The Security Council has not reviewed these issues since 2003. The public debate, however, continues. U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan expressed his opinion that the invasion of Iraq was ?not in conformity with the UN charter?from the charter point of view, it was illegal.?

Invocation of all these UN resolutions and statements is all well and good but, when the governing body that authorizes enforcement doesn't give you the go ahead, seems to me like you aren't done talkin. You and I both know that the happy cowboy was just itchin to get in there and get him some brown corpses. Ignored the weapons inspector and stretched anc cherry picketed intelligence, wrapped it all up in fear and patriotism, then started pushin buttons.

Hardly the statesman. As he said, "I'm a war president." And a mighty bad one at that, if I might add.

Odd thing is Edward those having derved there are still re-inlisting to go back--and those like you who would opt for their children to be deserters as you once stated before serving in iraq- are doing all the complaining-in unison with your code pinkie protestors.

As I said before when the shit hits the fan--everyone runs-- their character will determine which direction.

P.S. You wouldn't have been in NY 54 minutes ago with any of your other troop supporters :)

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A small explosion caused minor damage to a U.S. military recruiting center in New York's Times Square area in the early hours of Thursday but there were no injuries, police said.

NY1 television said a small bomb or incendiary device was thrown at the one-story building around 3:45 a.m. EST, causing a small break in one of the windows.

My dear misguided southern friend:

You are correct that I would strongly urge my issue to room (if they would have him) with our Madjacks northern bretheren if the clown in dc ever instituted the draft and his number was called to fight, excuse me, to participate iand risk his life in this invasion and occupation of a country that posed absolutely no threat to the USA which was ordered by a dictatorial, corrupt, regime, questionably in office, who took its guidance from ghosts, spooks and other deities.

You are quasi correct in that I would have seriously considered doing the same (although I would have a hard time finding northern Madjacks bretheren to bunk down with) some 35 years ago had my number been called during a similar war. Actually, I would have been trying to hook up with a tye dye tee shirted, braless, tee, bell bottomed, vw driving,Torontonian living in an apartment on Younge Street who was in need of some serious Eddie free love.

Thirdly, no I was not in New York 54 minutes ago. Plus I hurt my thowing arm in a pick up basketball game last weekend. You know the old saying, if the arm can't transmit, you have to acquit. Sorry.
