GB (-7) - This is going to be one of the bigger plays of the year for me. Line opened between 8 and 9 and, to my surprise, has actually went down. Really thought it would be close to double-digits today. To get it at one score is a huge bonus. I think a big part of the reason people are on Seattle is because of their win last week. But if you look into that a little deeper, you see that the game was much closer than the 21-point outcome would lead you to believe. Sea. trailed in the 4th and actually scored on 2 pick sixes late in the game. Not to mention they were playing a Redskins team that just barely made the playoffs and were spent after playing 4 straight emotionally-draining games. And, probably the biggest factor, they were at home.

The key to this game, IMO, will be GB's offensive line. If they can give Favre time to throw, he will pick apart Seattle's secondary. I also think GB will be able to run more effectively than most think, but the game should be won through the air.

For Seattle I highly doubt they will be able to run the ball with Alexander. They will try to throw some 3 and 4 receiver sets at GB and spread the field, but I have the feeling Hass will be under pressure all day. People talk about Favre's tendency to make bad throws/decisions, but Hasselbeck is no different. Pressure him and he can get rattled.

In the end I think GB will win this pretty convincingly. Maybe I'm biased due to watching so many Hawks road games, but they are a below average team on the road and I don't see that changing today.

GB 31-14.

Do you remember my response to you earlier about being wrong? It wasnt a reference to the outcome of todays game but to the line.

No way was this going to get up to 10 or 11.

Either way, good job shopping lines and buying low with that TD. At least youve put yourself in the best position to win. Id say the same thing to anyone who grabbed Seattle and 8' or 9.

Bender,

My bad. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer and didn't realize you were talking about the line. Thanks for coming back to post.

Thanks Gibson. Great job by GB's O-line giving Brett to throw. And a great job by GB's D shutting down Seattle, especially after the rocky start.

For tonight I like...

N.E. (-13) - This is a much smaller play than the GB play. I just think Jax will be running into a buzzsaw tonight. NE has looked unimpressive the last few weeks of the regular season, winning games but not covering spreads. I honestly think a little bit of the edge was off for them. They were still playing for the undefeated season, but they knew they had the division and homefield wrapped up. I think some of the intensity was gone at the end of the season. Well now the playoffs are here, and I expect them to come back strong.

On offense, I just can't see Jax being able to keep up with Brady & Co. This offense can seemingly score at will. They have so many weapons that Jax can't isolate just one guy, so I think they are in for a long night.

I also think N.E. has the edge on defense. Garrard is an efficient, yet unspectacular QB. His claim is to fame is that he can manage a game and he typically won't hurt you. Jax's bread and butter is running the ball. However, and I think this is very important, if N.E. jumps ahead early like I think they will, Jax may have to pass the ball more than they want to. And I think that's going to be a big part of N.E.'s success tonight. They will dictate how Jax has to play in order to keep up. I think that plays right into Jax's weaknesses.

Excellent call today on the Packers today, Glenn!!!

And, by today, I mean last Saturday when you said you would lay anything less than double digits with the packers before the final had even sounded in the seahawk-redskin game!!!

:00hour :toast:

Thanks a lot guys.

Gibson - no worries. Hey, one of us will be happy, right? :142smilie

TP - I completely forgot about that. :mj07: I had a feeling they would have a rough go of it today. They typically play like the '85 Bears at home, and the '08 Dolphins on the road. :scared

GL with your plays fellas. And remember, never trust a man who wears a white belt. :SIB

1-1 on the day. Hard loss to take on the Pats. Huge missed FG at the end of the first half and huge drop by Welker on 3rd down on their last scoring drive. Jax played well though. Give them credit.
