SD +14 @ NE 47?
38-14!
No, it wasn't the same San Diego team back in week 2. They were freakin' healthy in week 2!
Suppossedly, the Bolts had a big revenge motive back then too. Remember, they were butt-hurt about the way New England acted after upsetting 'em in the divisional round last year. But... WHACK! 38-14!
I'm expecting to see all of the Chargers in action; their excuses already provided to minimize disconcertion.
Last week we saw J'ville play a soft cover-2 defense and "hold" the Brady Bunch to 26 of 28 passing for 262 yards and 3 touchdowns. My guess is SD will gamble a bit more than that, using various blitz packages against the Pats' multi-receiver sets. If I'm right, they'll get torched like a dirty meth pipe.
I suppose the weather is a bit of a concern in this game, but it ain't no Yoko Romo! Ya see what I'm sayin'?
San Diego is So. Cal, sunshine, palm trees and regular season achievement. New England is Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots. Championships.
I know, I know. Lay the women, take the points, right? Sorry doll. I have a headache.

What time it is?
If it ain't midnight, I think Brett Favre still has a ball to attend. Ya follow?
Now, I know many of you disagree, but I contend that when it's cold enough out to freeze your pilsner, the weather is a big player. And the redneck Cinderella has been legendary in the cold.
Favre's record at Lambeau Field in single-digit temperatures is 3-0, and he is 9-1 at home when the high temperature is 20 degrees or less. Head coach Mike McCarthy attributes that success to the fact Favre holds the football with 10-inch hands, which is extremely large. That improves his grip on a hard, slippery surface when other quarterbacks struggle even when wearing gloves. He had his first true snow game in Green Bay last week against the Seahawks and had the best playoff quarterback rating of his career. In the 1996 NFC Championship Game at Lambeau Field, he threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns in 3-degree temperatures and sub-zero windchills.
The key is how the cold weather will affect Giants quarterback Eli Manning. He has had six regular-season cold-weather games in which the temperatures were below 40 degrees and his passer rating is a frigid 58.6.
The field conditions could be a problem too. Lambeau Field is one of the best in football because of the underground heating, but any moisture will freeze in the below-zero wind-chill temperatures. A slick field would be an advantage for the Packers' offensive line. It can gain leverage on blocks against a lighter defense. Last week, the Packers' line was so good that Pro Bowl defensive end Patrick Kerney of the Seahawks didn't have a tackle.
The Giants were able to survive against the Cowboys despite injuries to three cornerbacks. Sam Madison and Kevin Dockery were out and Cornerback Aaron Ross missed time because of a shoulder injury. Ross expects to play, but Madison has only an outside chance of being on the field. I think the depleted cornerback position will be in tougher shape against the Packers.
The Cowboys have three decent wide receivers, but two of them -- Terrell Owens and Terry Glenn -- were playing hurt. The Cowboys really didn't have the ability to spread them out and test all of the Giants' cornerback depth. The Packers can do that with Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones and Koren Robinson.
Also worth noting, the Pack dwarfed the Giants, 35-13, Sept. 16 in Giants Stadium.
Check the clock, fellas. What time it is?
