Fact 1.) They play each other, New England wins by 3 and yet the books start the line out at 14 ?
easy lean N.Y.G.

Fact 2.) N.Y.G. winning as a under dog and covering every game, New England just barely winnig, not covering any games ?
easy lean N.Y.G.

Fact 3.) New England Q.B., the leader of the team, is in worst shape now, then when he played N.Y.G. the first time ( or so we are all told ) and yet why isnt the line going down more the 2 points?
easy lean ( brady hurt ) N.Y.G.

FACT 4.)
If there is one thing I have learned in my years of gambling, the books dont lose $$$$$$$$$$$

they set the number high for 1 reason, to get takers on N.Y.G.............. and I think they got what they wanted

huge bet on New England - 11 1/2

Sportsbooks don't set lines. oddsmakers do that job. They provide this service to books, who can run with their numbers or not. How about the line opened -14 to convince Joe Public, that NE will stomp the Giants, so I better bet them now before the number goes higher. And yes, sportsbooks do take a a bath once in a while, albeit not very often. One never knows, do one?

Oddsmakers set lines to benefit the books ,not the gambler,IMO.
