Think of something you can relate to....?

Roe vs. Wade = Lou vs. Boggs...
Marbury vs. Madison = Stephon vs. Sam....

If you can related it to something you're familiar with that's a lot of it...

mnemonic devices also...it all sounds basic, but they work for me...

some ppl can just look and memorize, other ppl are better at writing and then memorizing, others find reading out loud helps....you didn't get this far by not doing something right, so it may just be a matter of hitting the books and doing some good old fashioned cramming..

good luck!

I don't know if this is believable or not but a friend who was studying for some class to be a doc- swore by it. He would record what he was studying for on a tape and play it when he slept. Something about the sub-conscious. I know it sounds crazy but he said it helped him. I called BS but he is a foot doc out in California now.

good luck

jc

I did that also.... I got all of the CD's from the Bar Review prep course and played them every night while I slept while I was preparing for the Bar exam.... I don't know if it works, but it sure didn't hurt...and I passed the first time around! :SIB

Try this- Sleep with tv on 24 hours news station--when you wake up in morning and read news you'll be amazed at what seems to be "old" news to you.

Terry frisks? ..... we call them safety searches and can only search whats within reach of the person.

Terry stop is done to protect the officer. Look up the case terry v ohio. It has nothing to do with searching the immediate area around the suspect.

The case pertaining to searching the immediate area aroudn the suspect is chimel v california.

In a Terry stop, you can only seize items through the sense of feel/touch only.

In minnesota v dickerson, the court stated you can seize non-threatening contraband through the sense of plain feel, and you must IMMEDIATELY know what it is. You cannot empty the pockets. in a terry stop, the officer does not need probable cause, so evidence seized outside of plain feel is probably suppressed.

The terry stop was intended to only seize threatening items... but the court extended this rule to non threatening items as well.

And I believe the case chimel v cal is intending to arrest warrants. You can't go through the house seizing items only yielding an arrest warrant.

This ruling is also extended to the case maryland v buie. While you are serving an arrest warrant, you may not do a "protective sweep" unless probable cause of immediate danger exists.

Also, in the case Arizona v Hicks, when the officer enters w/ emergency circumstances without a warrant, he must have probable cause to seize items. This is a very interesting case.... look up the facts.

Um...I forget how I do it.

If you care to take a little good natured ribbing....

Why don't you turn off the damn computer and spend more time studying...

:tongue

Seriously, best of luck. If I had to rely on my memory for anything more than getting to and from work without getting lost these days, I'd be in serious trouble.

haha... i probably spent 15 hours jamming these damn things into my head last week.

I took day 1.. and the teacher stated that the cases on day 1 will not be on day 2. I've got it now.

This test scared the shit out of me, and this is sad to say... but I'm a senior in college and its the only test i've been worried about.

I guess its all because I'm ready to graduate... and if i failed/dropped this class... it means one more semester.

i'm currently in my 4th semester in law school as well, I just do an outline for every course and about 3 weeks before finals review (read) them over and over. Flash cards help as well, and on my drives I listen to the cd's of every course I take, does wonders.

p.s. for review I practice under timed conditions every old exam my prof has given out. I find this is very helpful. You may want to try it.

Good luck in your pursuit of a non-ABA accredited law degree. I've got one. No one ever asks if you went to an ABA accredited law school, 'cept maybe a lawyer; and if a lawyer does ask, they are generally a douche bag.

You will do fine. I wish passing the State Bar admissions exam were like the old days in England: First, find three people that will call you a gentleman. Second, recite the rule in Shelley's Case. :mj07:
