We had a set of 7' tall twins come here to UW Stout at the age of I believe 23, and finished their career last year at the age of 27. They are now playing overseas professionally.
I know D3 has different rules when it comes to age... Every year there seems to be an article about some 50+ year old grandfather playing college football at a D3 program.
I don't remember the twins tho... are you talking about Kim and Kerry Hughes? Yes, that is going way back to Wisky in the 70's....
Don't believe everything you read online.... don't most people want to be a 44 year old male? Married male on top of it?
Alas, it's true. But at least we don't have any kids to deal with (not that there is anything wrong with kids - we can't due to traveling constantly for both our jobs).

FYI - been to Bowling Green a couple of times... we have a 2000 Corvette, so every once in a while we do the Corvette factory tour.
Which is always a fun time. Any chance you work at the factory, 6-5?
nope. I work in a hospital. I like all the corvette weekends/homecomings. One of my favorite cars.
You were deprived as a child.... just admit it!! :142smilie Schleprock was from the FLINTSTONES, well actually the SATURDAY morning spinoff where PEBBLES and BAM BAM were grown up. I was born in 62 and remember that clearly, plus I kind have had the same effect in life. (Schleprock brought "bad luck" where ever he went, things would fall apart or go bad, kind of like my NCAA picks!)

Nonemachers to take game to Germany
MENOMONIE (April 17, 2007) - Sprechen sie deutsch?
UW-Stout's 7-foot centers Jacob Nonemacher (Sr, Kalispell, Mont) and John Nonemacher (Sr, Kalispell, Mont) will have to learn at least a little German as they will be taking a shot at life in professional basketball in Germany. The twins have signed with a European sports management agency and are expecting to attend a pro camp in Duesseldorf, Germany, June 22-24 to prepare for the season.
"Germany has one of the best basketball leagues inthe world, along with a few other European countries," John Nonemacher said. "The agency we signed with is located in Germany, but that does not mean that we will playing in Germany in the fall...it could be Italy, Spain, Greece or so on."
Nonemacher doesn't see a lot of differences between European basketball and basketball in the US, beyond the shape of the free throw lane.
"As far as we can tell, it is like what you would watch during the Olympics or the World Championships," John said. "The rim is 10 feet hit and the ball is the same size."
Jacob Nonemacher was the Blue Devils' leading rebounder with 9.2 rebounds per contest, ranking him second in the WIAC for the 2007 season. Nonemacher was also second in the WIAC in blocked shots (3.28), fourth in field goal shooting percentage (.556) and 10th in scoring (14.4). He finished his Stout career ranked 10th on the all-time rebounding list with 688.
John Nonemacher concluded his career with his best season, averaging 6.1 points and 3.5 rebounds. He was second on the team in field goal percentage (.564) and scored a career-high 16 points against UW-La Crosse.
Nonemachers are looking at their overseas trip as a stepping stone.
"We plan on playing at the highest level of international basketball," John said. "Also, we will be working on our game to possibly make a push here at the NBA. The opportunity to play as a professional when we did not play in high school is something that we are very excited about."
John and Jacob will participate in the Scorers 1st Showcase 2007 in D?sseldorf/Hilden (more information on the Scorers 1st Showcase can be found at www.pro-exposure.com).
Wow - how did these guys not play in HS? In Montana, no less? Kalispell is a small little town - you'd think they'd have been pressured to play for sure...
I wonder how many guys make it to the NBA and never played HS basketball??? They mentioned that was their goal - that sure would be something if they made it...
You guys will love this one then. A local Div 2 power Cal Univ of PA......has a 31 yr old JR. who was the MVP of the East Region and they advance to the ELITE EIGHT!!!

The Vulcan men's team joined the women's team as 2008 East Region champions after defeating Millersville University 64-52 on Tuesday, March 18 at Hamer Hall. Senior Ron Banks scored 27 points with seven rebounds and was named the East Regional Most Valuable Player while senior teammate Alioune Mbaye joined Banks on the all-tourney team. Cal (28-5), under the direction of 12th-year head coach Bill Brown (258-96), advances to the Elite Eight in Springfield, MA, and will play in a 2:30 p.m. quarterfinal game against Alaska-Anchorage. The Vulcans, 2008 PSAC champions and winners of 19 of their last 20 games, have won the school's first men's basketball regional championship since NCAA II Final Four appearances in 1992 and 1996.
