That decision certainly helped the books, no doubt they had hordes of UCLA 2h action.

Officials change score of UCLA-Texas A&M a day later
March 23, 2008
CBSSports.com wire reports

INDIANAPOLIS -- Texas A&M pulled within two of UCLA on Sunday. Too bad the game ended Saturday night.

The NCAA clarified the score of the top-seeded Bruins' second-round victory over the Aggies, saying the officials waived off Russell Westbrook's dunk as time expired and the final was 51-49 instead of 53-49.

UCLA's Josh Shipp blocked Donald Sloan's drive in the final seconds and Westbrook rushed up court for an emphatic dunk as the Bruins celebrated.

It turns out Westbrook didn't make it to the basket in time.

"As the officials were leaving the court, they waived off the basket, ruling the ball was still in Westbrook's hands when the clock expired," Hank Nichols, national coordinator of men's basketball officiating, said in a release Sunday. "Amidst the activity courtside, there was a misinterpretation of the signal. But the ruling on the court was that the basket should not have counted, making the final score 51-49, not 53-49."

The Bruins (33-3) will face Western Kentucky in the West Regional semifinals Thursday in Phoenix.

Above the Clouds....
Cause they probably fought over if it was worth changing....as far as the NCAA goes. I'm sure that if this wasn't such a high profile game, no one would have cared.

Another thing I don't know is when did the offshores change it. They must have been crediting accounts up till the decision to change it?

I'm curious how it's handled too.

I had UCLA -4 2H, and readily admit that dunk was after the light. My wager was graded a push, then switched to a loss, then back to a push, all within the 20 minutes of confusion after the game last night.

Just looked -- I'm still graded as a push, but won't yell and scream if that changes. Kinda saw this coming.

I assume UCLA 2h was a heavily bet side for this kind of fallout -- wonder what would have happened if it was the reverse situation and the big money was on A&M?

How would VEGAS benefit????

I'm just curious... I realize there are many locals with PHONE accounts, but what about the AVERAGE JOE in town for the weekend??? Who would be stupid enough to NOT cash that ticket as soon as the FINAL was posted! I KNOW I WOULD be FIRST in line and waiting to get my cash, because it was CLEARLY after the light and the REF was shown in the background waving it off. I would not have waited for any reason, UNLESS I had it parlayed to a SUN game, which would totally suck.

DOES anyone know HOW VEGAS treated it???? I'm just curious if they put a HOLD on all 2H bets until further notice or something, if not, they got SCREWED if they had to pay BOTH SIDES. :0corn
