I read a post on another forum where the guy claims to have used this with good success. Its called "3 sisters" and is suppose to date back to the pre-America days and was used by the indians.

Here is how to do it..

Prepare by using a power post hole digger and dig 6" or so,

Use a self pollinating corn, green beans and squash, all planted in the same hole.
The beans are nitrogen fixing and fertilize the corn. The squash acts as a mulch to keep weeds down.

If this does work it would be perfect for me for a food plot for the deer.

Any thoughts??

dude, go plant some rape seed instead.

its like 10 bucks for a big ole bag of it and its like crack cocaine for the deer.

Rape seed is the Europeans version of canola. The Europeans have been making biodiesel out of it for the last 12+ years.

The deer dont tear it up before it gets to growing good??

What type of soil do you have there? It is rocky soil where I want to put in some plots.

I think those rape/turnips would work great for u bubba. The deer don't really start hitting them until after the first couple of frosts when they start getting sweeter. Lots of times, that's after my hunting season. Shouldn't be a problem in your area where it's much colder.
