You have any idea if a Beretta ES100 24 inch barrell, used in good condition is a good deal or not at $499.95???

Going turkey hunting for the second time this weekend and trying to find a decent deal on a used shotgun.

Thanks in Advance

My suggestion would be to go by a 12 gauge camoed Mossberg 835 for about $300 (I think that is what I paid for mine). That way you can shoot 3.5 inch mags out of it and it should already come with a full choke.

Is Dicks Sporting Goods the best place to get one of these?

Went with your'e suggestion, got a Mossberg 535, under $300 with rebate, really like it, can't wait to shoot it this weekend, thanks!

just seeing this. Lots of people love a mossberg (my dad included). I hate them.

That really wasn't a great deal on the Beretta, so u didn't miss out.

I would have bought a Benelli Nova pump. You could have bought that at Whitakers in West Louisville for about the same price.

I do recommend that you buy a turkey choke though. I'm partial to Kick's gobblin' thunder, but there are a lot of good ones. You also don't need to buy a 35 dollar box of Winchester Xtended range shells or Heavi-Shot. The regular Winchester High Velocity turkey loads kill them just fine. That's what I use in a #6.

20 ga. 870 Remington using Nitro Ammo. Friend of mine got a tom Monday and ranged it at 47 yards using the above set up.
I use Browning BPS with Nitro ammo and have scored at tom at 42 yards.

where are u located, slink dawg? I've heard good things about the Nitro loads.

Needy, u mentioned something in a post last year about coming up here to hunt. If you want to make that happen, get my email, and let me know, and we'll go chase them one day.

Good Luck with it and we expect some pics. The reason I got a Mossberg was that I was going turkey hunting for the first time and all I had was my 20 gauge Ithaca that I use for dove and quail. I needed something more, and I didn't see any sense in dropping $700 or better on a good quality gun that I was gonna use once a year. The fact that it was already camoed and you could use 3.5 inch mags in it, was the biggest reason for getting the Mossberg. I know they aren't the greatest gun out there, but it is good enough for the short amount of time I use it.

I'm leaving a week from today for a 5 day hunt. I'm hoping it also might be a bumper crop for mushrooms this year. Can't beat fresh mushrooms and crappie.
