men, did you raise your children to be wiggers, you know, the kids with their pants hanging at the middle of their AZZ with their BOXER shorts showing? What about the way they TALK?
You my DOG!!! WORD!!!

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this
"Assuming most here are Liberal white"

but will answer your question from a point of view of lookin' outside in because I have no children.

The melting pot that is lower income and middle income parents who live in Suburbia
USA don't raise the children anymore..They can't..The handcuffs that the powers that be have shackled the parents with have restricted the control that parents need to make sure that the phases that each and every generations of children and young adults go through are just that ..Phases and examples of each generation showing their means to express individuality..

I feel I can safely say that all who visit this forum have at some time or another in are youth expressed our need and wish to show our individuality and did so..These examples of course are followed or scorned at by the peers of our time. Long hair, bell bottom blue jeans, skin tight sweaters for women, dyed "Chuck Taylors",rooled up sleeve w/cig pack tucked in,mini skirts,knickers,tie-dyed T shirts and yes even the pants falling of w/the underwear showing that my own brother back in the 60's made popular in West Gent.

Words like groovy, brotherman, dude, farout, cool, heavy, stickman, bitchin',a gas, crash, crusing and bad to the bone.
All examples of words and dress styles that were in some shape or form methods of individuality that either became accepted mode of dress or words used daily in the native language.

The difference you ask???..The subculture that is allowed to manifest itself not from the exspression of individuality but from an open and nasty defiance of all stern parently up-bringing..made all most unstopable to control by the lawmakers of townships, counties, cities and states acrooss this country.

I watch these parents daily as they try to guide their children to at least a chance to make it is this place we call home..I watch the grimance on their faces and they go to snatch the kid bald when he or she is disrespectful to another adult..I have seen my friend[a full Lt. in our US NAVY w/the most even temperment you can imagine] nearly arrested as he attempted to disipline his son after calling his own mother a fuc.... bitch.

I have seen w/my own eyes the sadness in these parents eyes when they are threatned w/legal action by their own children because through the grapevine these children and young adults know they can scream batterment and abuse to get out of doing the simpliest household chores.

Raising wiggers..what ever the hell wiggers mean..I doubt it very very sincerely..

Raising their children and young adults the very best they can given the circumstances and the fact that our own governing bodies have taken away the right of stern leadership and discipline and empowered the children and not the adult parents.

I am sure they are doing the very best they can.

But unlike when my brother wore the baggy pants and underwear showing back in the 60's..or when I got caught smoking my first cig at age 10.

Mom said.."Chip pull up your pants,I have seen all your ass I want to see from this day forward..and as for you Michael..come to the diner table..You will eat a pack and smoke a pack..and then Dad will deal with you both later.I suggest you wear your heaviest bluejeans."

My mom is still the "coolest" chic I have ever known and my brother still uses terms like "bad to the bone" and "dude".

Simply amazing what parental control can do.

Simply amazing what parental control can do.

Parents still have control of parenting.

As for your friend whose son called his mother a fecking bitch, the parenting problems started WAY before whatever attempts at parenting he had to get him "almost arrested."

Parenting is freaking tough. And I don't have children old enough to know whether or not I will be considered a "successful" parent in the end.

I do know, for the most part, my 4 year old behaves better and is more respectful than most (certainly NOT perfect, by any stretch). We hear it from his teachers, friends, etc. too consistently for it to be rhetoric.

One of the contributors, imo, is that my wife is a stay at home and parenting is her #1 priority. That is the role that she and I decided she would play in our family. Since I am building a business, foregoing her income is a huge sacrifice but one that we think will reap benefits in the end.

Sorry for the long rant, but I grow weary of listening to parents make excuses as to why they can't parent.

Spanking your children is not a necessary tool for parenting. It's a useful one (which we use in a limited capacity), but it is certainly not the cause of and of the world's problems.

I have my own theories that lead to us looking back several decades from now and probably labeling the baby boomers as being the most self-centered generation that has ever been which was backed up by a commentator I heard not long ago. I wish I remembered who it was. But I think the self-centered nature ("what's in it for me", "who can I sue", "that's not fair", entitlements, etc.) has led to Generation X (my generation) to be largely garbage.

I think the whole "green" movement now is a back-lash reaction to the over-abuse of "what's in it for me" decades. I have high hopes for this next generation (18-25 year olds, I guess) and what they will accomplish when they get to "leadership" age. The workplace is going to look, act, smell, taste, and feel much different than what we are currently accustomed to. (HINT: We will say that they are "ruining" the work environment because we won't be willing to adjust to the new ways)

Just some random thoughts. No offense meant to anyone even if you are in the "self-centered" generation. ;) That sounds worse than I intend. I'm not skilled at conveying thoughts through written words. If you were sitting with me over a cup of coffee or mug of beer, you would be screaming "Werd, my dog!!" :mj07:
