Just wondering if I'm alone or not on this......

You research a system or trend and back it up with weeks of W/L % which turns out to be a very solid number, so you finally put your $$ on the games and as soon as 1$ is put on the these games they absolute shit the bed!!! This happens way to often it seems.....am I alone here?

You should never jump on a system unless you have the $$$ to follow all the way thru with it.

It happens to me all the time. I suck at systems.. Lord of Balls has a good system to follow, but it seems that a big bank roll is needed to chase it down. My system is simple.....

I make a bet. I get kicked in the nuts. I pay the bookie. :mj07: :mj07:

You're missing my point.......I'm not saying I follow anyone's systems. Sometimes I get in the mood to research mostly trends of my interest and I come across some that give out great % results as far as wins. It just seems every fock'n time the % is there through the research as soon as I put one cent on the games they lose! I guess it's just coincidence...I don't know. I've been researching the past couple of weeks and came across something that looked very solid and gave out around 65% winners in that span of research. Well, I finally put money on the games that came up tonight and it looks like they're going to go 0-5. It's just extremely frustrating on how the games win when no money is on them and when you go to finally try and make money they end up laying a fat egg in your face!!! Seems it happens way to often...atleast for me. Maybe that's a sign of "this isn't for me"?

it happens to me also? i can't win a damn thing either... just like i love the yanks to win so i bet them they shit the bed and lose so the next time they play the line is like -230 and i think they sucked so bad the other day there is no way they are going to win this one and i bet the other side thinking for a big payback and boom the come out on fire and win pisses me off but thats why they call it gambling i guess:shrug:

I hear ya....that's one system I never do. I never bet on any team whether my favorite or not to win just because they're "my team". I don't even know if you'd call that a system....LOL!!! Bet with your brain not your heart.....then again it seems throwing darts at a MLB team dartboard would just be as similar.

When enought people pick up on something, they will change it. For example, I never bet the NFL because I couldn't find an angel. Three years ago in the fourth week of the season I thought I found an angle. It was 5-0 at that point. I road it to a 39-5 finish. Took me thru the Sluper Bowl winner. It hasn't been there since. However, I also picked up a totals play that went 19-1 that year and has gone 18-2 the past two years. Usually if it loses 2 in a row I get cautious, 3 in a row and I'm off.

you research, ck trends... tms v lefties, or day gms. or whatever, and it doesnt come in... and it looks like it should 90% of the time... but loses...not every time, but at least half the time... esp when you increase your bet amount right? :shrug:

this is why I started trying out my systems... and have great respect for Godzilla's system... the problem w/systems is you have to be able to play it out to a 4th or 5th bet occasionally (which happens eventually, but not regularly it seems) and you will still make $$... ck g-zilla's record... bet to win $30 bucks a unit, and do the math... $$
my home tm totals and r/l's has also been profitable... and takes away most all the 'capping time, simplifies the process...

I also like cisco's home fav system (but not enuf bets, and sometimes hav to lay big juice, taking that out ot a bet #3 or #4 is beyond my limits usually... but it wins eventually also)

There are some 'cappers (gsp for example, mlbking has done great this season, I know Lucena did last season, appears around even this season i think) that appear to be able to pick and choose well enuf to consistently come out ahead every month (nobody wins everyday) and make it worthwhile, but i believe they are very few and far between...
reality seems to be that most will end up losing or around even, not making enuf $$ to make the time spent worthwhile...

I respect the time and effort cappers put in... I just havt had consistent success at it myself doing research... I wish all of us would win each week...

I can say that gambling is a grind, I am probably the streakiest person I know, with everything I do!
I learned at an early age and unfortunately the hard way that everybody has a different limit on what they can afford to lose and everyone has their own madness to how they bet. I do it to try and make few extra bucks and usually it goes in bookies favor, but no matter what system you use or who you follow, the only thing that matters at least in my opinion is "money management". I never chase, in fact when I am running bad I become more disciplined and play less units and less games. I press when I get hot and ride it out. The one thing I hate are people that play the "their due" theory. I watched a guy lose 50k in vegas playing blackjack with that theory--he only makes 75k/year. Dad are you reading this!! Everything is relative to your bankroll,too many guys try to be a "heavy hitter" or a "big shot" Play within your means and all will be good(doesn't mean you will win) I wish you well !!
