Didn?t fare well at all during the opening weekend going 1-2 for -4.7 units.

Today?s Games:

Georgia/Stanford ? Looks like righty Junior Austin Yount (3.38 era, 61 IP, 34 K?s, 17 BB?s) will be throwing for Stanford and going against Senior righty Nick Montgomery (4.06 era, 58 IP, 56 K?s, 15 BB?s). Yount doesn?t have much velocity and relies on the defense to get the outs. Against a hard hitting Georgia team, I think that is going to be difficult. Montgomery has been pretty good in his last two starts (2-0, 15 IP, 3 ER, 2 BB?s, 12 K?s). Even if he gets into trouble, Georgia is considered to have the best bullpen at the CWS and they have plenty of hard-throwers who can contribute in relief.

Georgia +135 risking 2 units

Miami/FSU ? fourth meeting this year between these teams as Miami took the regular season series 2-1 at Tallahassee in mid-April. Pitching for Miami will be Sophomore righty David Gutierrez (4.67 era) who was their typical mid-week starter this season. Not sure why coach Jim Morris isn?t throwing either his #2 or #3 starter, but I would expect Gutierrez to be on a short leash today as Miami has plenty of arms available that would be able to go several innings. FSU will be starting Junior righty Elih Villanueva (3.79 era, 97 IP, 94 K?s, 38 BB?s). Villanueva got rocked in his start earlier this year against the Hurricanes, not making getting an out in the 3rd before getting yanked and allowing 5 ER?s. Expect a slugfest in this (O/U set at 14) and these are the two best offenses at the CWS in my opinion.

Given that, I believe Miami has a big edge in that their bullpen didn?t get used much in their game on Saturday while FSU used 6 pitchers in relief, although pretty sparingly for some. I really think Miami can get a lead and if Carlos Gutierrez gets the chance to throw late with the lead, he will definitely redeem himself for the miscues from Saturday.

Miami -195 for 2 units
