Today?s Games:

Rice/LSU ? this should be a good elimination game as both clubs are gritty and thrive under pressure. Both teams are going with Seniors to start the crucial game. LSU is going with righty Jared Bradford (4.50 era, 86 IP, 75 K?s, 20 BB?s) while Rice is starting righty Chris Kelley (3.28 era, 69 IP, 59 K?s, 19 BB?s). Bradford has split time between starting and relief all year for LSU but was really instrumental in LSU?s long winning streak towards the end of the year. It appears Rice?s best hitter, catcher Adam Zornes, will be playing today after being hit in the face late in Sunday?s game. He has a new helmet with a protective mask and is key to the Rice offense and defense, so it is big for him to be in the lineup. Tough game to call, but with a better bullpen that can control LSU?s bats if Kelly gets into trouble, I like Rice in this one. The Over (12) is tempting to me, but I?m going to stay away.

Rice -120 for 1 unit.

UNC/Fresno ? Starting for UNC will be Junior righty Adam Warren (4.07 era, 77 IP, 68 K?s, 40 BB?s). Fresno counters with Junior righty Justin Miller (4.88 era, 79 IP, 75 K?s, 45 BB?s). Fresno?s normal #2 starter Clayton Allison has been shelved due to tendinitis in his shoulder. Miller has been a bit erratic in his last few outings, lasting 2 2/3 in his start in the Regional versus San Diego and 3 1/3 in his Super-Regional start against ASU. He gave up 10 ER and walked 8 in those 6 IP, so I expect the Tar Heels have a good shot at getting to him early. The good news for Fresno is their pen is fresh due to the good outing they had against Rice on Sunday. Warren has been superb in his last two starts giving up 2 ER over 10 2/3 IP. The Fresno bats are obviously hot, but I like Warren to get a good start and put UNC 2-0 in the their side of the bracket. Even if he does get into trouble, the UNC pen is just as fresh and has better arms to back up their starter.

UNC RL -110 for 3 units
UNC/Fresno Over 12 for 1 unit

Simply unreal. Rice's defense does them in as they blow it late. Graham stuck with St. Clair and it cost him as LSU scores 4 in the 9th.

Updated record: 3-3 for -1.2 units.
