They were down 8 with 47 seconds to go..... so it was 3 possessions. But I agree, they should have fouled... I feel your pain.

I think every other team in the NBA would have fouled there. To play D and hope for a miss, and be down (at best) 8 with 25 seconds to play made no sense....

I don't understand it - unless Phil knew that the Lakers were not to win game #1 under any circumstances.

But the Lakers are a play in game #2 - the NBA will "let" them win that game... gotta keep interest in the finals, and if it was 2-0 LA going to LA, people would stop watching...

I don't get this at all? Why would people stop watching if it goes to LA with LA ahead 2-0.....I think this is a very competitive series.....would everyone stop watching if Boston wins all three of those and it goes back to Boston 3-2 Boston? :shrug:

Read my post again.... "if it goes to LA with LA ahead 2-0" - what I was saying is that Boston HAD to win game 1 - if they didn't and they lost game 2 also, the series would be over and noone would watch.

The NBA HAD to be sure Boston won at least 1 game at home - although I'm sure the NBA is hoping they go up 2-0, since LA will be given the 3 games at home if they are down 2-0. If LA wins 1 of 2 in Boston, then LA will win 2-3 in LA.

The NBA, in my opinion, will make sure this "series of the ages" goes at least 6 games to maximiize revenue...

I feel as though BOSTON DOES WIN THE SERIES, Im NOT claiming conspiracy as some others are, I am just wondering down 2 possesions or 3 WHY NOT FOUL and hope for FISHER, KOBE, or Vujacik(sp) to knockdown a 3 or so?? Skulnik said it perfectly, foul ALL SEASON LONG DOWN BY 10 sometimes.....but:nono: :nono: :nono: NOT IN THE FINALS:shrug:

don't know why they did not foul; was very safified with my over bet undil last 30 seconds of game and none of lakers even trying to foul excepy kobe. did not help that the lakers had only one field goal in last 7 minutes of game. had spurs in last series and they go crazy in 4th especially kobe. hit 3 pointer trying to dribble out clock.

hope total stays the same for all games as lakers will score 100 in rest of games.
