10 questions to ask yourself!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Something to think about....

1) Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?

2) Where is all the media asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved the problem or where the FEMA trucks (andtrailers) are?

3) Why isn't the Federal Government relocating Iowa people to free hotels in Chicago?

4) When will Spike Lee say that the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines?

5) Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?

6) Where are all the looters stealing high-end tennis shoes and big screen tv's?

7) When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants to rebuild a "vanilla" Iowa, because that's the way God wants it?

8) Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of cannibalism?

9) Where are the people declaring that George Bush hates white, rural people?

10) How come in 2 weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again?

Maybe the real answer is because there are some people in this world who know how to take care of themselves (especially in times of tragedy) without blaming others or expecting the Government's help!

YOU GO KEEKO!

Of course, comparing the floods in the mid-western states to the disaster in New Orleans is like comparing a firecracker to a nuclear explosion. But you'all keep telling yourselves that "those people" deserved it. It makes you feel good, doesn't it??? It allows yourself to avoid addressing that deep, dark secret that you're afraid you hold in your heart, doesn't it. . . . .

Keeko:

Thank you for the Rush Limbaugh perspective. However, as always, there is another side to the story that you Rush types somehow conveinently always leave out.

From the Daily Iowan:

I hate to see anyone go through the pain any of these folks have went through. Now what did there state government learn from 1993 flood. Some people need to be move out of flood plain, and some dikes were to low. Where money get spent that was given to do that? As for Katrena 130 billion so far thats how big that was. Estimate for 08 floods is 35 blilion. Now folks said why fixed N OR it's in harms way. Well I guess we can ask that of these floods that happen every 10/15 years. How about Calf it's burning down right now. First est is 12 billion already gone up in smoke. Lets see can we move the whole state. Everyone gets help from the Gov when these things happen.

I am quite certain that there will be some sort of benefit put on by those "Hollywood types" to raise money for those without flood insurance and others who suffered significant losses in Iowa. It's still pretty early and again, I think you are comparing apples and oranges here.

I thought I heard that Loretta Swit (Hotlips) and Gary Burghoff (Radar) were doing a live benefit in Utumwah next week called MASH-AID to raise money for the flood victims. I believe the band was Zager and Evans. See, Hollywood is doing their part.

I here ya Eddie.

At least the haz-beens are doing their part.

The "Cusack's, Sheen's, and Penn's" got other more important things on their plates.

At least now.

IO:

I mean really. Who on God's waterlogged green earth wants to hear Bono sing "I can't live with you or without you..." when you can listen to Zagar and Evans sing " In the year 2525, if man is still alive..."

Now thats some balladeering.
