Independence Day -- is what it is. not bad for that style of movie.
I Am Legend -- did not see it.
Pursuit of Happyness -- good movie, but overhyped
Hitch -- did not see it.
I, Robot -- I liked this more than most. I watched the last half again on FX last night after the kids went to bed.
Ali -- was good, but I thought overhyped.
Men in Black -- enjoyable movie.
Wild, Wild West -- once again, for what the movie was trying to do, I guess it was enjoyable.

He has a pattern on most of his movies. They are not slapstick, and most may not even be considered "comedy", but they have a cheeky edge. The other thing they have in common is that they make a TON of money!

I saw Will Smiths last two movies and they sucked. I actually slept through the homeless guy one. And that last end of the earth one just didnt do it for me.

I think Will Smith is in the Eddie Murphy segment of his movie career. The one where it goes downhill fast.

i guess they can`t all be "wild wild west`s".......:SIB

i`ll never forgive the fresh prince for forever butchering the "jim west" character in movies.....

as a kid,i just loved that show...michael dunne as "dr loveless"...richard kiel as "voltaire'...

great stuff....

fresh prince my arse...

HELL
Hi jr11. I was just stating that the movie wasn't very good. I knew damn well it was going to be the #1 movie this weekend because it had Will Smith in it. Lack of options if you ask me.

8 movies....

Independence Day
I Am Legend
Pursuit of Happyness
Hitch
I, Robot
Ali
Men in Black
And I'm guessing Wild, Wild West

Hope the house is still coming along.

I am not disagreeing with you, I was just stating he gets the audience and his movies really aren't that good IMO. As the eight, not sure, but know that it was Men Black II not I, and Shark's Tale.

Here
A Will Smith movie packs in millions of people over Fourth of July weekend. No surprises there.

Yet Smith's "Hancock," the tale of an anti-social boozer who happens to be a superhero, comes with an abrupt plot twist, one that has divided critics and the moviegoing public in the real world (Critics and everyone else can't agree. Now there's a real surprise).

For those who have yet to see "Hancock," we won't give the secret away, but it has something to do with why Charlize Theron's soccer-mom-style character doesn't want Smith's surly superhero anywhere near her family.

Critics generally thought the turn the movie takes halfway through was a cheat, spoiling what had been a promising idea that was a fresh twist on the superhero genre in its own right.

The people who turned "Hancock" into an instant blockbuster beg to differ to the sum of $185 million worldwide at the box office in just a few days.

The plot twist in "Hancock" won't go down in cinema history alongside Darth Vader revealing he's Luke Skywalker's pappy in "The Empire Strikes Back" or Anthony Perkins turning out to be a slasher in his mom's housedress in "Psycho."

Stick to Wall-E, it was excellent.

Don't worry I won't tell your buddies you went to see it. :mj07:

Busted! I went opening night. It was very good. Just didn't think I should write up that one. Something tells me it wouldn't have gone very well. :mj07:

Take care in my favorite city!

Hell I don't know
I really liked Hancock. I thought it was funny. Plus it's not the same ordinary superhero type movie. Of course it's stupid but it's a superhero movie. The beached whale scene was great! :SIB :00hour

Went the Saturday of opening weekend with my 4 year old. I must have seen a different movie than the rest of the world. Although, I thought it was good and better than average, it certainly pales in comparison to the other 4 movies talked about at the famous lunch that started it all.

One of the guys at firstshowing.net (one of the best sites for honest feedback on movies) said it was "The first perfect movie of 2008". I definitely saw a different version than him.

Well it's all a matter of taste. I also though Ratatouille was an almost perfect film. I see most of the cartoons and "kids movies", but i typically only gush over the ones I really love. I think Pixar has hit its stride in making excellent films, rather than just visually fun kids movies. I wouldn't even consider Wall-E or Ratatouille kids movies at all. Finding Nemo was great, but still a kids movie, to me.

I'm all over the Pixar films and the Disney predecessors such as Lion King and Aladdin.

The famous five films that started it all were Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Toy Story, Monsters Inc., and Wall-E.

Of these five, I would put Wall-E last as far as storyline goes. The animation is amazing, but it will continually get better as time goes on. It has the advantage of being the last one made.

And, yes... we are breaking down "children's" movies on a gambling site. :)
