I try to post each year on this annual spanish event held in the northeastern region of spain. this year turned out to be the fastest and less dangerous runs in over a decade with few gorings and injuries. if you are a fan of adrenaline and partying and have a few minutes you can go to the website listed below to watch this years' runs.
i haven't been in a few years but plan to go back eventually. really an awesome experience.

www.sanfermin.com

there is a "tv" link on the page and you can navigate to the "encierros" to watch all 8 runs.

thanks for the link.

I watched the whole run on that site, it's funny because I always assumed it was longer and with a lot more bulls than that.

I'm not sure at my age I would run with them but I would love to go, watch and party(and maybe get enough liquids in me to run with them)

There is a look-a-like contest each year (since 1981), know & worked with the 1994 winner...he eats it up.

Agent,
while it is true that the bulls that run every day are slaughtered in the ring later in the afternoon, this is a spanish tradition that has been going on for years. i am the first one to be against animal cruelty. everything from the bull is eaten and used after processed, leaving nothing to waste, and i mean nothing.
the bulls die with honor, it takes a 15-20 for each fight.
any way you look at it animals are killed for meat. my dad used to go into slaughterhouses with his old job - from the stories he told me, there is nothing like what goes on in there and if most americans knew and saw what happened, there would be a lot more vegetarians out there.
these bulls are bred throughout spain and bred to fight and then die in the ring, just like chickens, cows, fish...etc. i understand your point though.

layinwood....there are 8 runs during the festival. there are 8 videos to watch. just an fyi if you want to go back and check them out.

Now I will admit I did not know they ate the bulls, it is nice to know they aren't slaughtered for absolutely nothing. However, don't give me this nonsense about dying with honor:mj07: It's a fking bull, WTF does it know about honor? And it's not exactly a fair fight, is it? They don't die an honorable death, they die a horrifying, painful and most of the time very slow death.

As far as animals here, your Dad is 100% correct. I think it is said like 90% of poultry instructors don't eat poultry:scared Ahhh, ignorance is bliss, eh?

I challenge everyone to read the book Diet For a New America and NOT change your eating habits!

It's interesting but since I watched the movie city slickers and some of the people getting injured, I might stay at home and watch over the web. :)
