Ok....quick story......I am in a CFL conests at a non sponsor sportsbook, we are not talking huge cash here, but money nonetheless. As in most pools/contests there are weekly prizes and overall prizes. I had a good day in the CFL yesterday, in fact I was perfect. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the weekly standings and saw that I was not in first place? I picked every outcome correctly. There were two over/unders and two point spreads. I went 4-0, 100%. perfect. You can't do any better then that.
I said, well there must be some sort of glitch or scoring error. I checked my selections and yep everything ws correct....100% baby! So I e-mailed the sportsbook this e-mail:
On July 31st I went 4 for 4 on the two CFL games. Both underdogs covered and both games went over. I just looked at the standings and I am not tied for first place? How could I go 4 for 4 and receive 6 points, yet the first place total is 7 points? I could not do better then perfect so how the heck can other players get 7 points and I go 100% and receive 6 points? Obviously there is a mistake that needs to be corrected. I mean it is really quite simple, I picked all games correctly and I should be in first place, scoring error is obvious. I thank you for your time and look forward to your response.
I then receive this:
Hi kickserv,
Thanks for your note. An underdog covering the game does not award 2 points; the underdog needs to win the game outright (SU) in order to garner 2 points. While the Eskimos won outright as a dog (2 pts) and both games went over the total (2 pts plus 2 pts), the Ti-Cats covered the spread but did not win the game outright so no points were awarded to you. Your total of 6 points was correctly scored.
Thanks again for touching base and best of luck in the contests moving forward.
UMMMM........DUDE I KNOW MY POINTS ARE CORRECT....BUT FIRST PLACE HAS 7 POINTS...WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!
It seemed that this dude, though very nice and polite, still did not understand:banghead:
So I sent him this:
Ummmm, Kevin sorry you are incorrect! My 6 points may in fact be correct, but it is impossible to score 7 points then. How could anyone do better then 6 points? I picked every outcome correctly so I have to be in first place. There were 4 outcomes and I picked all 4 correctly. It does not matter what point total is what. This isn't that difficult, I should be in first place. It is impossible for anyone to be ahead of me. How could somebody be ahead of me by picking the same 4 games!!! I can't pick them any
better, so how could anybody else do better then 100%! So if my 6 points is correct then fine, but it is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to have 7 points. You
need to correct this mistake.
You CAN NOT have anybody ahead of me, it is impossible. If so, then how could one gain more points then me on the same four selections! I could not select a better outcome for those four selections. You need to correct the glitch in the system then, because it is flawed. Please correct this
mistake.
If you look at the standings you will see some people are ahead of me with 7 points, if my six points are correct, THEN THEY CAN NOT HAVE 7! I acheived the max points allowed (it could be 6 points, 9 points, 698 points, or 900 points, doesn't matter, I have the max) and should be in first place.
IS THIS REALLY THAT DIFFICULT....HOLY F*CK :scared
