Who will start at QB?

Coach Eric Mangini was asked who would start at quarterback in the preseason opener Thursday at Cleveland. Chad Pennington and Kellen Clemens are competing for the job.

?I?ll look at it, marinate on it and make a decision,? Mangini said. ?But it won?t be any sort of earth-shattering news.?

Maybe not, but it will be interesting to see who gets the first chance to perform under game conditions. Pennington, however, doesn?t think the order will be that significant.

?Week-to-week, we would flip the coin,? he said, ?to see who would start the practices, [so] based on history, probably not.? Mangini also indicated there would be no significance in who starts.

Medical updates

Wide receiver Laveranues Coles (thigh) also returned. He had missed six practices. Linebacker David Harris (leg), wide receiver Marcus Henry and running back Jesse Chatman sat out both practices, as did linebacker Jason Trusnik, who still is on the PUP list. Offensive lineman Clint Oldenburg left the evening practice with an apparent knee injury.

IE where can I find nothing but preseason stats on teams and coaches ? This is good stuff on the Jets but is thier coach a preseason winner? It might make a difference in QB rotation. Just a thought. Thank you for all your hard work I rarely post but always concider your work the cream of the crop.
