Here is from a website I subscribe to:
WR Sidney Rice, Vikings ? The 2nd-year WR recently went in the 13th round of an experts draft, after stiffs like Amani Toomer and Muhsin Muhammad. Sure, those guys have had great careers, but if you?re down to choosing between these three it?s gotta be Rice. His talent is so obvious if you?ve followed him from South Carolina. The 44th overall pick last year, many thought Rice would have been a top-10 pick had he stayed in school. The kid?s not even 22 yet! He?s already been named the Vikings? starting flanker, hands down. Rice has adjusted to the mental and physical rigors, he?s not a trouble-maker, and his WR coach George Stewart says he?s going to be one of the ?great pass receivers in the NFL.? Amani or Moose? No thanks. Go for upside, man.
WR Eddie Royal, Broncos ? Whoa, is this kid coming on strong. Royal has moved past Darrell Jackson for the #2 WR spot. "He's earned the chance to start," Mike Shanahan said. "He's practiced at a high level and done all the things you need to do to play with the first team." Royal is starting the first 2 games anyway with Brandon Marshall suspended, and unless the fading D-Jax guzzles 226 Red Bulls, Royal could start all year. Amazing because Royal had an average career at Virginia Tech. In 4 years he averaged 30 catches, 445 yards and 3 TDs. However, he did lead the ACC in punt returns the past two years. Royal is bullet-quick and when we saw him on TV we thought he "played big" like Steve Smith.
WR Limas Sweed, Steelers ? You have to wonder if Washington wished they had taken Sweed at #51 overall instead of Malcolm Kelly, who has knee problems. Steelers beat reporter Scott Brown says Sweed is giving every indication he can be an immediate impact player.? The 6?4/219-lb Texas star caught 3 passes in his preseason debut and looked well-adjusted to the pace of the pro game. Big Ben wanted a tall receiver and Sweed can do the deed.
