Good Luck with everything! I had a blast meeting you at the golf outing. Your bloody mary's are the bomb!

I am looking forward in seeing the "new" man next time we meet:00hour

Take care and thanks for letting a newbie feel like one of the gang at Belterra. It shows the type of man you are and you should know we all care.

A quick note to anyone on this forum who hasn't had the pleasure of meeting our good friend Rolltide.................
I have only met him through our golf outing however we spent a considerable time getting to know each other and I would have to say that he is one of the most engaging and nicest man I have ever met. His honesty and love of life are evident at every turn and with every word that comes out of his mouth.
His actions speak louder than any pat on the back from myself or anyone can. He truly will give you the shirt off his back. I can only imagine what must be wrestling through his mind as he decides to go forward with what could be a life prolonging surgery that has as many pratfalls as it has feel good stories. Whether you know the man or not, whether you like him or not, we are all just a little bit better that he is around. I hope everyone will someday have the pleasure of calling Brent their friend, until then I hope all of you keep a truly good man in your thoughts and prayers.

It is not often that I wax philosophic and it was very difficult not to make a crack about using the shirt off his back as a beach blanket because that is my nature. I'm just a natural born smart ass, but Brent seems to bring out the best in everybody who's life he has touched.

Speedy recovery to you my friend and I will let you know about the next trip. We still are going to play Tour 18 whether you like it or not. This time you have to ride with Jack though because he hordes the damn cooler...............well that and I think that as time passes you may become a more attractive man than Jack.............

Just sayin:shrug:

Hope this helps,
FDC

Rolltide, even though I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you in person I certainly feel like I know you here at MJ's.

I wish you all the best and will follow your positive progress along the way knowing you will come out all right.

Can't wait to meet you in the near future.

My wife's best friend's father just had it done 6 weeks ago. He had to go on a STRICT diet for 3 months before they let him have the surgery. He is doing extremely well now and has lost over 70 LBS since May - 40 lbs before the surgery & 30 lbs after. He's lovin' life now!! Best of luck to you - you'll be fine!!

Thank you so much to everyone for your positive responses and encouraging words. I am incredibly touched.

Our insurance policy has an exclusionary clause for this type of surgery. I've fought with them and had the hospital do so as well. Going to pay for the surgery out of pocket. When it's all said and done it will be around $20,000 ($17,000 for surgery and $3,000 for tests, meetings, etc.). Several friends have already gotten together and are having a benefit golf outing and dinner for me at our club in mid-October. Whatever funds we don't raise, my boss has pledged to make up the difference.

I'm incredibly blessed to have so many friends that care and are so encouraging. I truly appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers.

I don't need to meet you to know what kind of person you are. The fact that the people that know you and live with you are willing to help you like this tells me you're one hell of a guy and I can't help but wish the best for you. Good Luck!

Roll:

You know I generally do not post in these types of threads but having met you at the golf outing and giving you my share of shiit I thought I would make an exception. Best of luck.

Great to hear you got the financing squared away. I know that that can be a major hurdle. Time to celebrate. Where do I send the box of donuts?
