Does anyone know where I have to look on computer to find out what loads up on my computer when I first boot it up? My computer has been very slow lately. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

On the course!
Just look on the bottom of you screen where all the icons are. The ones you see, are the shit that is running.

When you do what the other guys said, you can click to disable almost all of the crap you see in there, too.

BAD..when you say the volume tool is on..do you mean you have double clicked the icon to make sure the mute button is not checked in the master volume control?

I am no computer expert so just fishing here.

Sounds like sound card problem to me..

one of the guru's can surely walk you through a checklist.

a simple system restore may work and then do another scan for the crappolla..

but I wouldn't try that without one of the guru's suggesting it as well.

KMA could help..Maybe SHE:00hour will make an appearence.:0corn

Did you recently install any new sound card drivers or a new sound card?

Give this a shot...

Control Panel > Admin tools > Services > Windows Audio

Make sure it is started. Double click on it and also make sure it is set for startup automatically.

If you're scared to take his advice, why don't you just turn all the shit back on. Even if it slows you back down, if your sound comes back, you'll know where your problem came from. Then, it's just a matter of you NOT shutting down that system on start up.
