(no, not me Mike)

Glad to not have been a part of that number.

'capped one so far. A little too high on life at the moment, for some unknown reason, to really get into too many.

Anyway, I'm dog-huntin'.
Funk these joker lines we've seen the past few days.

Mets 56%(-209)-12 astros 44(+191)+9

Not betting the farm, due to the rather low probability, but I am betting a chicken and a pig.

Only fave I really like today is the Chisox, and that's still about 15-points too high for my liking (wanted -140). I also wouldn't fade the Yanks today, despite the O's offensive recently.

Anyways, Mets edge pitching isn't that great with Oswalt looking fine recently. As well, both teams prefer facing lefties but only the 'Stros see one to start. This matchup just happened, at Minute Maid on August 2nd, and the 'Stros won 5-4 thanks to the Mets pen, which is in fact worse than that of the 'Stros, IMO and others. Astros have won Oswalt's last 5 starts, him going 4-0 (only ND was that Mets game...gave up 4 earnies but has been quite good since).
Woof!

Might have more later, if I don't fall down the stairs on the way to the fridge.

Auggie Doggie

Auggie Doggie

dodgers 55%(+121)+9

Hoppin'.
Maddux just faced 'em and shut 'em down.
Phillies offense has been pathetic for a good stretch, now.
Turn it around and bust out against Mad-dog?
...and Lad's stellar pen?
Goin' against that notion.
Kendrick looks like a nice opportunity, here.

Not sure what else, if anything, to do.
Prefer Lannan to Marquis (prefer Dick Cheney to Marquis), but Nats to win two straight looks grim by most standards. Cubs home, cooled, and looking fine lately. Pass. Groan if Nats win.

Duke-Bush looks over. 9. Brew-Crew getting the much preferred lefty and a stale one at that. Need 3-4 Pirates runs and I say it bags. Gotta have a taste of this puppy.

side note for totals...Doug Eddings turn to ump, someplace, and I'll be taking a boo to see if I can find out where before first pitches. This dude is the best under-ump left with Hirschbeck retiring. Put him in play at Shea and I pay.

Thought the Bravesticks might reawaken but apparently not. Wainwright the type of pitcher (young, and very good, in particular) who should bounce back well from DL stint. One jumbo fave I'm considering, but runline only (still +103...woof!).

Harang-Cook offline otherwise I'd consider -- make that I would play -- Rox runline as well. Rox won't pull an '07, this season, but they'll likely kick the bejesus out of weaker competition at home for the duration of their season.

Unit price is an insult. Marlins didn't look so much like shit lately--with the D'Backs kinda surging--and I might try the longshot. Fish look washed up.

Padres -- geez -- should 'cap that one. -220 on the Giants seems a little high. Baek mostly unimpressive but could keep his team in the game here. Let me 'cap this mother...

Giants 65%(-220)-4 padres 35(+202)+1
under7 55%(+100)+5

Passola, there.

Friggin' Yankees are tempting but O'sticks are rockin'. Runline -113...hmmm...and deny myself another day of cheering against the Yankees?...with nothing on the line?
Think I'd rather go down with the Jays rather than the Yankees.

Did I just use "rather" twice, there?
Hope you're not tough graders.

Jays game I gotta do...

SF -220? How the hell can u sanely bet that? Its a no bet or SD for sure!!!!! Cant wait till these overpriced home faves get back on the road... That's where I make the big bucks.... Been trying to find the dog plays lately and there just doesnt seem to be too many... Even on ALT RL's!!!!

Im sure Vegas is getting sick of this too. Do you think we will see -400 soon like the days of Schilling and Johnson with AZ on the year of the Snakes....?

Jays 54%(-106)+2
over9 62%(-124)+6

Looks like the over would be better than the side, here.
Again, with Doug Eddings it would likely be scuttled.

movin' on...

Rangers tempting but Injuns are hitting well lately and Harrison's last might be an abberration. Carmona unpredictable presently.

4 straight shit starts for Verlander before looking decent vs O's. I'm not sold. Bannister had his era rise .6 after last start--tough to do this late in the season (1 IP, 10 earnies will do that). I should do this one, too...wanna see the total figures...

Anymore pop-ups tomight and Bill Gates life may be in jeopardy. Anyone with a cure for the vicious kind please refer to my queries (2) in the general discussion forum. Grrrr!

Chisox 72%(-158)+10 RL 58(+125)+13

Looks kind of high, maybe, the way the Rays are playing, even without Lonoria and Crawford. Still hurts. What hurts even more is that they Rays--unlike in '07--CANNOT hit lefties this season. Danks was brilliant in his last against them and is 3-0 vs them (in 3) with a 2.50 era. He's been solid at home and great over his last 3 starts. Jackson has been quite good recently, too, but I think that the Chisox, at home, will break his current string of 5 straight starts allowing 3 earnies or less (note that only 2 of the 5 were "quality starts"). Rays OPS the last 7 days was .796...pretty good. Chisox OPS the past 7 days was 1.062 and they led the majors in run scored over that period. This homestand has them looking great.
Grabbed some at (gulp) -158 and some at -1 -119.
Actually, a little more than "some."
My biggest need'em for Friday.

Geez...I missed the boat on the Twins yesterday, despite my 51% call on the nice doggie. Like Perkins about as much as Baker (which isn't much). Twins OPS .955 the past 7 days (ESPN...will exclude Thurs) while LAA was .645. That IS one big gap. Angels with little pressure, right now. Twins need some mojo filter. hmmm...only 1 quality start in Perkins last 5...It's a late one so maybe I try it small if earlier action is rewarding. Line shouldn't move much on this one, methinks.

Again, briefly considering M's (+103), and even the under 9. Briefly. Fleeting. Under as a late add-on, with a good ump going. Actually, nevermind that--will be Iassogna (basically even).

I think that does me. This thread.
astros, dodgers, Chisox and Cards runline.

hmmm...ignore the pop-up and it just sits there (none for 4 hours then freaking 4 or 5 in a row!!!)
Perhaps a hammer to the motherboard might help.
You think?

hey, BB, I'm just trippin' out here and missed your post. Yeah, these lines have been insane for what?...3 straight days now?

I would NEVER play a -400 in baseball. Even for my system I have a ceiling of 80% on a call and them there's the break-even mark on a -400.

Thinkin' about 'tailing you on Argentina and maybe even the pricey Brazilians.
Had no action Thursday so maybe I'm a little antsy.
A little antsy and a little intoxicated.

Forgot one:
adding a small shot on Pit-Mil over the 9.

May your wagers produce more happiness than my pop-ups.
Make that MUCH more.
Infinite, even.
Avoid the void.

I may find peace within the emptiness...
...how pitiful
It's calling me!
