Sen Joe Biden for VP......wonder if this is enough to balance the ticket........I believe we need change I just wish I knew what kind. I wouldn't mind a certain amount of isolationism or at a minimum change in our trade agreements so we stoop the economic bleeding! Also, stop supporting the whole F*&^^* world just so they can get what they want then tell us to go fly a kite......later all

With his foreign policy experience, this appears to be a nice choice for Obama. Plus, I read this week he will kick ass at the VP debate. Drawback would be Biden's 36 year run in the senate which goes against Obama's (in my opinion hollow) call for change ........

I agree. Biden clearly outclassed the competition in the Democratic Primary debates (including Obama & Hillary). I doubt any of the Republicans (or Lieberman) want to debate Biden and he would flat-out embarrass Romney in a VP debate.

I like it.

The young and inexperienced John Kennedy chose the experienced Washington insider Lyndon Johnson which carried the ticket in 1960. Hopefully, history repeats itself.

It's now McMansions turn to choose. My billions are still on Romney.

Well i just put my ten minutes a month into watching Fox News. I just watched ten straight minutes of Biden bashing on their ticker :mj07: . Good thing they are looking out for all of us. The right wing slime machine is out in full force today.

based on what?.....mormonism?....i doubt that seriously....i think it`s a good match-up.....

i like biden`s passion....but he has the potential to derail the campaign at least once a week by spouting something incredibly stupid....he likes the microphone way to much...

"I've had a great relationship. In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking,"

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."

not to mention the plagarism issue.......

and he basicallly wet obama`s bed during the debates...

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: You were asked ?Is he (Obama) ready?? You said ?I think he can be ready, but right now I don?t believe he is. The Presidency is not something that lends itself to on the job training.?

JOE BIDEN: "I think that I stand by the statement".

aside from hillary,he was the logical choice...i agree...but,he has his issues.....unlike bock,he has a record...

A good matchup? Are you serious?? If McCain taps Romney, Biden will have "Central Casting" stuttering like Miss South Carolina in a head-to-head debate. He (Central Casting) will have to issue a disclaimer before the debate... "I'm not really a politician, although I play one on TV".

Biden is an outstanding choice. He brings everything to the table that conservatives rip Obama for - inexperience, foreign policy and constitutional/judicial expertise, connections both here and abroad.

I would say that a huge majority of democrats would be comfortable - most really happy - with Biden as President if something happened to Obama - which is the main thing when looking at both the V.P. and the ticket overall. I know I am very happy with Biden, and this will cement my vote unless something huge comes along - which I expect - to try to derail things.

Biden's record is out there, has been for a very long time, he's been vetted more than once, and conservatives even speak of liking him. This will go a long way towards grabbing the moderate vote, and those undecided and worried about Obama but still wanting to vote Democratic.

For the life of me, I cannot understand the value of picking Lieberman as McCain's running mate - especially with Biden on board. Lieberman would lose even more support with the right wing of the supporting party, and I think it would lose him more than it would gain with someone like Romney - who is a staunch representative of the conservative values - except for that two-wives thing, but that's probably why McCain would pick him - he's obviously down with that...

The Biden choice was fantastic - and it shows Obama and his advisors have their eye on the ball, and understand the big picture. Well done.

Obviously, the tack they will take will be to use Biden's comments against Barack in the primaries, which hopefully most will see through as understandable politics.

I thought Romney handled himself pretty well in the debates. I think it's the only real shot McCain has at this point - Romney could really get out with the conservative/republican values thing, and gain a lot for the ticket. He's a successful businessman, he's a good looking guy that can really speak well, proved he could handle a tough debate pretty well, and he's the choice of most staunch conservatives. I just don't know who could add more at this point, unless it's somebody completely different than we are talking about. Somebody new could be worth it, just for the excitement value.

But I think he may fall victim to the Hillary thing - McCain can't stand the guy, and I think would hold a grudge. Obama apparently wasn't going to have Hillary anywhere close to his show, which I can actually understand. Not picking her shows a lot of confidence in his ability to win in November, in my opinion.

Why is it as soon as the Dem VP is announced like clockwork we hear how this VP is such a great debater? It never fails. Is this another right wing talking point to put the guy on a pedestal so he can go nowhere but down? guys are running around already cannonizing Biden like he is a debating machine. Never underestimate the agenda of the snakes on the other side.

Keeko when Obama talks about change he means changing the disgrace that has gone on in the last eight years. The eight before that were pretty good for the country. There wasn't massive borrowing an huge debt created those eight years like the eight years we just witnessed or the eight years before the Clinton administration. I think that is what he means about change.

Keeko when your head shepherds Hannity and Limbaugh instructed you and the other sheep Skully to come over to this site, did they give you traveling money? Was it tough to ride your bicycle here knowing there was a possibility that your puppet strings might get caught in the spokes?

How predictable. For months idiots like you slam Obama for his youth, lack of experience and lack of a record.

Soooo, he picks a running mate that is 66 (still 6 years younger than McFossil), with experience and with a record and...........HE gets slammed.

You can't effect 'change' if you don't get elected. He made a choice that gives him his best chance.

Would it have pleased you more if he selected a 38year old Pakistani woman? Would you have praised him for REALLY fighting for change?
