I think I understood all of your logic except this last part?

Although I'm guessing your post was somewhat kidding, if not, then here's my take on it. I don't think Obama wanted anything to do with Hillary being around for his moment in the sun - and we can already see how the righties have blasted him for picking Biden on the "change" front. Can you imagine how much more of that would come with same-old Clinton rhetoric? Hillary would have forced herself into the limelight and probably would have undermined him in many ways - let alone Bill, who would have been a scary loose cannon for him. I do think Bill would have been a terrific statesman and helped a lot with some strategic foreign policy relations, but Barack wanted this show to be his. Biden was a terrific alternative, IMO.

The part I think you're kidding about is McCain picking Hillary. There's no way all of Hillary's supporters would have stuck with her and gone over to the dark side. And I'd guess McCain would lose about half of his support by picking both a democrat and a woman to run with him. Most would consider that to be treason, and would never vote for two liberals on a republican ticket.

But, I assume you're kidding, for the most part.

These so called 18 million votes she had i bet 1/3rd of them were Republican snake votes. Why does everyone think Fox was pushing Hillary so hard from the very first day? These snakes know what will energize the Republican base. From day one the Republicans kept bringing up how they feared Hillary. 18 million votes are laughable. She won a landslide here in Pa thanks to the Republican base. I mention this before the Pa primary that this is what would happen. It was common knowledge around here what the Republicans were gonna do. Don't worry McCain fans the color of Obama's skin will still energize your base as well as a lot of ignorant Democrats. Plus you have a big block of scorn women who still are crying about Hillary's defeat. This will be neck and neck right down to the end and all this talk about Pa being the deciding factor makes me believe that Pa will end up being the Ohio from 04 or the Florida from 00. I guess i have to get ready to stand in very long lines with all types of malfunctions.

Wow, I would have never guessed you would vote for Hillary, Ray. Another reason to not paint people until you really know what they are all about. I supported Hillary, myself, although my personal views more closely mirrored Chris Dodd.

As it stands now - especially after Biden on board - I will vote Obama/Biden. I live in Minnesota, and if McCain picks Pawlenty, which he really might, I still won't vote that way. I liked McCain quite a bit early on, but his drastic move to the right changed my opinion of him quite a bit. And if he does pick Romney, which I think he has to at this point, it will cement my thinking of him as a sellout, and I don't like much of what he now supposedly supports. He really has turned into Bush-lite, IMO. And there's no way I would EVER go for that.
