probably shouldn't post this, but has won $83K over the past 11 weeks betting baseball... I have tried to tell him that a bad run is overdue. However, he keeps betting huge.

My question, am I telling him wrong? He's down 7 dimes this week and I have a feeling he'll start losing a LOT soon... knowone keeps winning forever and he is still young. Yeah, he's been betting for a few years and I've had runs where I won $50K over a few months, but he's on fire. I begged him to slow down... am I wrong or is he just luckier than anyone I have ever known? He plays a couple dimes per game.

Let me know your thoughts???

Yes, tell him now, trust me here. Been in the same boat. Stop him from losing even more. You don't stay hot for ever and this is one in a blue moon scenario.

Walk away with the money and leave 10k in the bookmaker and start over, keep on draining the bookmaker, but make sure you take atleast 60k out.

Tell him to take 50K and put it away in mutual funds and take the rest and gamble with it.

yes, tell him to take most of it out.
i did the same thing in ncaa bball tourney 2 years ago, won $75K.
took out $45K and paid most of my debts, lost the other $30K back because i couldn't stop, i hit my bad streak.
haven't bet in 9 months now

It depends on his financial situation. If he needs the money, and it would significantly alter his life, I'd advise him to take the majority out. If all his debts are paid off and he's not really "in need" of having the money, I'd still tell him to take out at least 60% and just gamble with the rest. If he loses the rest, at least he has to go make an effort to put more in, instead of just clicking a button and losing it in an emotional response.

DD,
I have seen that situation and sometimes even though it sucks the answer is your bother will hit the wall regardless of what you say. My strongest advice I have is tell him you have fallen upon hard times or hit a big loser and need some big coin in a bad way. Take that and keep it for him when that streak comes to an end. It is a shitty way but the green eyes have a way of tuning out the logic. I hope it says hot and he continues to do well.
Just my 2 cents

Cheers

It's amazing that we all know that one of the most important things is money management. Just tell him to adjust his numbers and go with it.

If he's up that much then 2dimes a game isn't out of the norm for what he could wager and still be smart. As a matter of fact I would think 2 dimes is about where he should be on his plays.

My question, am I telling him wrong?

I'll give u the answer if u post all of his picks. :yup

Really, having such a great season, I would just tell him to decrease his unit size at this point..... sounds like he just wants action. Or have him sign an agreement that he will stop if he gets down to under 70K or somethin.....

I agree with kellyindallas.

Depends on his situation.

Give him whatever advice your experience can provide and then let him make his own choices.
I'd say that most of us learn our best lessons through some mistakes but, again, if the money isn't crucial to his survival then let him rock n' roll.
Hopefully he's playing at a reputable book.

Thanks for the advice. Of course he's won 7 dimes over the past 2 days. He also doesn't really need the money. I told him to play nickels and dimes rather than 2 dimes. He kind of agreed and is going to start playing 1.5 dimes per game LOL.
