Okay, going to post my opinions after reading quite a bit. Here are my opinions and would like to hear other opinions on each conference. Will only provide detail on major conferences.

Watch out for the SEC AGAIN... Vandy and South Carolina roll tonight. Georgia, Florida, & LSU could be title contenders. I believe the SEC set a record for bowl wins last year, don't mess with this conference unless they're laying huge points ATS IMO. Big 12 could be VERY tough... However, I think Texas and Kansas (hurts to say) might be over-rated. OU & Missouri will be in the hunt for the title IMO.

Conferences for 2008
#1 SEC - Everyone is decent... very few layups unless you play a bottom feeder at home. Otherwise, I'm predicting...
1. Florida 2. Georgia 3. LSU 4. Auburn 5. Alabama 6. South Carolina 7. Tenneshee 8. Kentucky 9. Vandy 10. Mississippi 11. Miss State 12. Arkansas - Other than Arkansas which is rebuilding... everyone looks bowl eligible.

#2 Big 12 - 5 teams in the preseason top 14... enough said. If the bottom feeders like Iowa State and Baylor weren't horrible, I would rate them #1. Best QB conference hands down.
1. Oklahoma (best OL & DL combined in country) 2. Missouri 3. Texas Tech 4. Texas (schedule is brutal so could fall, but still have talent.) 5. Oklahoma State 6. Kansas (schedule is a killer) 7. Nebraska (I like Ganz & Pellini and they could move up IMO) 8. Texas A&M 9. Colorado 10. Kansas State 11. Iowa State 12. Baylor

#3 Big East - Probably won't make anyone happy with this pick and very debatable. West Vagina & South Florida should be solid top 10 programs. Pitt will be much improved and I like everyone else but Syracuse. Heck, UConn or even Rutgers could finish 7th and they're solid. Very solid conference top to bottom IMO with a couple great teams.

#4 Big 10 - A lot of teams look down IMO, but Ohio State will be rock solid and should win the conference without a problem. A lot of ? marks afterwards as Penn State, Illannoy, & Wisky could all finish #2 IMO. You can't count Michigan out, but I believe they're rebuilding. Probably should be #3 conference, but I like the Big East to shine again with South Florida and West Va. having solid 4-year starters at QB. Not going to rate conference after Ohio State, because #2 could be ANYONE IMO. Okay, Minny & Indiana do look very weak IMO. Gophers should have NEVER let Mason go... they were 1-11 last year LOL with their only win being a Triple OT win LMAO!

#5 Pac 10 - Even the bottom feeders are decent... however conference isn't top heavy IMO. After USC, Arizona St & Cal should battle for 2nd. I expect Oregon to stuggle although many think they'll be good. Dixon is gone and they weren't a good team without him. USC is #1, but #2... you're guess is fine with me. WASU looks bad, but everyone else will be competitive IMO.

#6 ACC - Top teams aren't really good and bottom feeders suck. Sure Clemson should be solid & top 10, but they might lose to Bama Saturday. Va Tech & WF will be top 20, but not much higher. Maryland, Miami and BC are bowl teams, but NC State, Duke, and Vagina look terrible on paper. Please don't tell me UNC, Ga Tech, or Florida State will be good until they play someone. Conference could move up to #3 if Miami & Florida State step up to the plate and play like major powers again, but they won't. 1. Clemson (wow, can they finally step up???) 2. Va Tech 3. Wake Forrest 4. Miami (expecting them to step up) 5-9 your guess 10. Vagina 11. Duke 12. NC State

7. MWC (Mountain West Conference) - Utah & BYU will be tough and even the bottom feeders are okay. Utah can play with anyone on the line of scrimmage and have a solid shot at beating Michigan.

8. MAC - I like a few teams to be MUCH better. N. Ill & Temple appear much improved IMO. C. Mich & Northern Ill should be decent. Very few pushovers, but knowone scary.

9. WAC - Okay, Fresno & Boise should battle for the title. Hawaii should be down a number of notches. After the Big 3, this conference isn't much. Nevada has a good QB who I can't spell his name Kapournek-Sp?, but New Mexico State, San Jose State, La Tech, Idaho, & Utah State suck.

10. Independents - Notre Dame will be better than anyone in C-USA or Sun Belt so they provide the reason for ranking top 10 LOL!

11. C-USA - Kevin Smith & Paul Smith are gone... enough said. Carson Palmer's brother is gone along with Johnson from ECU who might start at RB for the Titans. The cupboard is empty IMO. There isn't one team that really looks scary to a major conference team IMO.

12. Sun Belt - Troy & Florida Atlantic will be okay, but the conference still sucks overall. If you have anyone else on your schedule and your decent... mark a W!

Opinions are welcome and had some time to type this piece. Would like to hear other's opinions as college football is the BEST sport PERIOD!

Im an SEC guy and would have to say the bottom of the SEC (which few care about), I would have shake down a little differently. Kentucky, Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss State all could end up in any order; but at this point I would have to put Miss. State at the top of that list instead of the bottom considering they are returning the core of their team that made it to a bowl and beat Bama and Auburn at home last year. They win ugly, sure, but they win. Vandy looked solid tonight, but you have to consider the opponent. UK is starting over as far as I am concerned. Ole Miss-New coach, same players for the most part. Agree about Arkansas 100%. Also, will have to wait and see what Saban+recruits=?, Im on them to give Clemson a run, but they could collapse again, less likely, but God was that ugly last year.
FWIW-Also agree with you on Mizzu and OU (assuming Stoops is ready for the big game)
Also like where you have the ACC...part of the reason Im on Bama instead of Clemson..
thanks for the write up

Didn't spend all night typing, but shocked more people weren't arguing over the 3 through 6 conference picks. I picked Big East 3rd which knowone else should like other than Big Easy fans.

ACC, Big 10, and Pac 10 appear okay, but none have a 1-2 punch like West Vagina & South Florida who both have 4 year starters at QB in White & Grothe. I also don't believe the Big East has many layups unlike the other conferences. Sure Syracuse is weak, but everyone else can play.

SEC & Big 12 appear far ahead of other conferences. Big 12 does have some bottom feeders in Baylor & Iowa State that reak, but otherwise, all 10 teams could make a bowl game. Kansas State is interesting becaue they signed numerous Junior College players and I like Freeman at QB.

I dont think you are that far off the mark. While I slot the ACC as #6, i do think that right now the Big East, Pac 10 and Big 10 are interchangeable.

I am not willing to rank them. They all look the same. I think the Big 10 can elevate its status, but its got too many question marks. If those questions end up with positive answers, the league will raise its profile. Ditto the Pac 10.

As for the Big East. Their league champ has won three straight BCS Bowls. I like what you said about the # of quality teams in the league. Not only that, we know those teams will be good and bowl bound. I think its competitive balance makes it a pretty fun league to watch.

With the Pac 10 and Big 10, we're not sure how to slate 2 through 8 in either of those leagues. Until those clustefoocks begin to shake out, we wont know just how strong those leagues really are.

Looks I nailed the ACC for the 6th spot. Clemson gets CRUSHED, Va Tech loses to East Carolina, Marland barely escapes Delaware, Vagina loses by over 6 TD's, & North Carolina barely gets by McSneeze State.

Big 12 and SEC are by FAR the best conferences hands down.
