Week 1 went well if you are still alive, and I think most of the board went with the Eagles :00hour week 1.

Week 2 is tough because the heavy favs are teams I don't have 100% confidence in, but after 35% of my pool got the boot via San Diego and Indy, just goes their are no locks in the NFL.

Quick first impressions:

Tampa Bay: Get the Falcons in their building, and based on their schedule, might be the best time to use them this season. I do not see a home game on the schedule where they will be a bigger favorite, except maybe week 17 when they host Oakland, and I should be so lucky to be alive at that point. Only reservation is that I do not know what to make Atlanta at this point.

NYG: The Rams are going to be a popular go against all year. Was at the game yesterday, and that secondary is laughable. In all honesty I they looked so lost I do not know what to think of the Eagles' win, other than the fact that McNabb can obviously hit WR's who are open by 4 steps. Giants are a steady team and shouldn't have much trouble in this spot, but it's the NFL, and taking a road team is never an easy proposition. Giants get San Fran and Balt at home later in the year so they might be worth saving for another week.

Seattle: They looked brutal against the Bills, but that was a cross country trip, and now they are at home vs the Niners. Personally I'd rather see a few games out of Hasselbeck and see them right the ship before I play them, but this is a relatively easy spot for them.

Cards: Home games against Miami will be a popular go against, and they are coming off a road win. Miami's D is solid and will keep them in games, but will they score enough to pull off an upset?

Have a couple days to decide, let's hear some feedback.

Even though I don't participate in the pool let me lend my $0.02.

I think Dallas is a lock this upcoming week.

:nono: Much easier spots for the Cowboys later in the year, and why bet against the Number 1 offense in the NFL for 2008? :00hour

I'll save Dallas for when the Deadskins come to town anyway.

I don't trust seattle with burelson and morris out either. Absolutely no one on the team that can catch the ball. To me, the giants look like the safest bet and probably the team I will be taking.

I dont know if the G-men is a good pick here fellas. They have not shown me anything worthwhile against the Redskins and only had 1 sack. If you dont pressure Bulger the way the Eagles did, watch out for them Rams

They may not be very good this year but they can give opponents fits on their home turf. One of my rules in these types of Pools is not to take Road teams unless the situation calls for (i.e. Week 14 and you dont have many choices left)

I am personally leaning towards the Jaguars, the Cardinals and the Texans.

I agree with canabiz.....I don't like taking road teams, especially this early in the year.

I suspect Garcia will play this week....I'm undecided between the Bucs and the Jaguars...going against the Falcons and Bills who scored home wins against suspect opponents in Week 1.

I am thinking Kansas City as well. They are a much better offensive team with Huard starting. Huard definitely gives them a better chance to win.

Safe pick though seems to be the Giants, but I don't like picking road teams.

Then there is always Houston.

Anybody else have thoughts of KC?

I am going w/ Zona at home. Too many weapons & Phins wont be able to keep up scoring...

Miami coming off a very emotional type game vs Favre & the Jets.

Game was hard fought & probably took a bit out of them. Now they go cross country for a game in the desert.

I snuck home with NE last week...

Had Seattle down for this week (according to my 7 week plan! :mj07: :sadwave: )...

...but yeah, now tend to agree that 'Zona lok to be a decent play.

Or, Pittsburgh. Road Div game and all, but Brownies will suck this year. They got smacked last week and haven't beaten Pits for a million years.

I have narrowed my choices down to the following 3 teams and will probably spread them around my pools: Arizona, NYG and Jacksonville.

I briefly considered Houston but no longer do because the game was moved to a prime-time slot and who knows what impact Ike will have on the game.

Best of luck fellas and hope to check in with you folks here next week.
