Been posting my college picks on Mad Jack's, and I am extending it to NFL now. I will keep track of any and all plays throughout the season on this forum. Any discussion is welcomed.
This week's picks:
Tennessee (+1) 1 unit
My only play of the season so far was the Ravens ML last week. This Bengals team is completely dysfunctional. The offense is not nearly as good w/out Chris Henry involved. The OL is awful, Palmer never has time to throw. Marvin Lewis probably won't last the season. This Titans team is very similar to the Ravens, as they emphasize Defense and running, except they do it better. The Bengals are still living off their reputation from 2005, but they are nowhere near as talented.
St. Louis (+8.5) 1 unit
The Giants looked good early against the Redskins but didn't sustain it. St. Louis looked awful against a very good Eagles team. I think this line is a reaction to how bad St. Louis looked last week, but I expect a much better performance this week.
Miami/Arizona U 39.5 2 units
I grew up a Miami fan, and am already impressed w/ the new regime. Miami played harder last week than they did at any point last season. Their defense is solid, although they left a couple plays on the field last week, that could have won it for Miami. We do know that a Chad Pennington team will not be explosive. Miami will look to establish the run against an Arizona defense that gave up 5 yards per carry last year.
NYJ/NE over 37 3 units
I fully expected this line to be above 40. I think the bookmakers have over-reacted to the Brady injury in regards to this total. Mangini will look to force Cassell to beat them by stacking the line and forcing the Pats to throw. This defensive style encourages big plays- both for the offense and defense. Offensively, the Jets will look to exploit the Pats weak secondary by spreading the field and moving the ball through the air. This should be an entertaining game that soars over the total.
none of these plays has been locked in as of yet. I will be back in the morning to confirm the lines as well as the bet size. good luck to everyone this week.
