McCain clarifies economy comments
Posted: 02:47 PM ET

From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney

McCain is defending his economy comments.

(CNN) ? Hours after calling the economy ?strong,? John McCain appeared to clarify the comment Monday afternoon, minutes after he was derided as "out of touch" by the Obama campaign.

"My opponents may disagree, but those fundamentals of America are strong," McCain said at a campaign event in Orlando. "No one can match an American worker. Our workers sell more goods to more markets than any other on earth. Our workers have always been the strength of our economy, and they remain the strength of our economy today."

?But their efforts are not being matched at the top," he added. "From Washington to Wall Street, the top of our economy is broken. We have seen self interest, greed, irresponsibility and corruption undermine the hard work of the American people."

McCain faced criticism earlier in the day from Democrats for telling a Jacksonville crowd that, "Our economy ? I think, still ? the fundamentals of our economy are strong, but these are very, very difficult times."
...............................................................

Of course McCain thinks the economy is wonderful, as it don;t affect his 100 million dollar ass and ten houses.

Eddie I have invented a new Monica Lewinsky filter system so when i see a post like yours, i filter it thru to make sure there are no ties to her. After running the filter system the Friedman article looks fine. On another note this is what Biden said today after McCain tried to spin how well the economy is doing. Joey's words

"`Ladies and gentlemen, I could walk from here to Lansing, and I wouldn't run into a single person who thought our economy was doing well, unless I ran into John McCain,'' Biden said today.. :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

Why can't we "Drill Baby, Drill" and look for other energy at the same time? That is what the Republicans have been saying. It is not a one or the other situation, we can drill and look for new and better forms of energy at the same time...

Eddie, my friend, you need to get your nose out of that left wing rag (NY Times). :D

Eddie, if we met I actually think we would get along pretty good. Having grown up in Massachusetts, some of my best friends are lefties...
