I suggest you find a gun range that rents Glock's and try it out first........

glocks are nice, and that sounds like a pretty good price, but it is a refurbish, and I don't know too much about their quality. I'm sure they are good, and that .40 cal is a good round.

I personally don't like Glocks; I'm just not very accurate with them.

If you want a gun for concealed carry, they make a "baby glock" that a few of my friends have, carry, and really like.

I like Berettas. At your concealed carry class you should have several to try out and maybe see what you like.

If you can find a handgun for a price better than listed on this page http://www.whittakerguns.com/ it's a good deal.

I'm not really a handgun aficianado, but if you have questions, I can readily find out whatever you want to know. Have fun shooting!

get a lil snub nose .38 or something.

if its purely for protection purposes.. you want something small. something you'll be able to whip out quickly and give you that "scare factor" that you will cause your assailant to stop for a moment - giving you time to either run away, or plant one between his eyes.

I firmly believe in your right to own a gun, but I always think back on this when I hear about a family man with a gun........

There are few precise figures on different types of shootings involving youngsters, but experts estimate are that about 300 children a year die in accidental shootings, a figure that has apparently held steady in recent years. That is about 40 percent of the shooting deaths involving youths. \.

None of these incidents happened without a gun present .

Take care sir

Everyone has their fav's but IMO your choice is as good as any--glock very reliable--decent price--like the calibur--should serve your purpose.

The 40 is a good caliber. Compact and three times the knock down power of a 9mm. Now just find the brand you want.

I wouldn't buy a revolver. In today's day & age, 5 or 6 shots is not enough.

I own a few guns , but carry conceal this one.

TAURUS MILLENIUM PRO .45

TAURUS_MILLENIUM_PRO_.45_COMPACT_STAINLESS_STEEL.jpg

It is compact, and fits great in an ankle holster. I get 10 shots of .45 hollow point mayhem !!

High quality. Made in Brazil, I believe, and very affordable.

Here is part of an article at GUNBLAST dot com:

The Taurus PT-145 Millennium Pro proved to be a compact, accurate, and reliable pistol that would make an excellent gun for concealed carry or home defense. It comes supplied with one magazine, magazine loading tool, instruction manual, cleaning brush, and two key locks in a lockable hard plastic storage case. It also carries the Taurus lifetime warranty, and comes with a one year membership in the National Rifle Association.

Check out the complete line of Taurus revolvers, pistols, and rifles online at: www.taurususa.com.

If 3 guys come up on you in a dark alley, do you think that 5 or 6 shots will finish the job ???

The first two you miss, cuz you just pissed your pants. The third & 4th go into the first guys chest.

Numbers 4, 5, & 6 go into the back of the guy running away.

Third perp stops and gives up. You walk up and put #7 in his kneecap, then 8 in the cranium.

Go back to perps 1 & 2, and plunk each between the eyes once, ( 9 & 10 ), just for shits & giigles.

Now the gun is either empty , or I have one left for a witness !!!
