Someone tell me why BYU doesn't win by 40

It looks like a blowout to me... BYU has the 11th ranked offense and 26 ranked defense.... USU is 91 on offense and 109 defense... 85th against the pass
Same reason it went down to the wire against Washington. It's hard to get fired up about an opponent like USU. Still, I agree with you, this looks like a blowout on paper.
Seriously this game has 28-0 at halftime written all over it, byu goes up 42-0 or something, and the only thing you'll have to fight is the backdoor cover, which wont happen cuz utah state prolly won't even score.
Dude, don't overthink this one. I pounded it as soon as it came out for all the reasons you state.
The only reason Utah State isn't 119 in offense and 119 in defense is because they played Idaho before their bye and put up more yards and points than they have in 6 years. six. years.
Utah could have scored 70 on them in logan, but went almost exclusively to the run in the middle of the third quarter and still won 58-10.
Oregon has been playing football for a long time but guess who they put up the most yards against in school history? USU.
Utah State is better than they were a year ago and their quarterback and running back actually have some talent, but BYU is gunning for a BCS bid and will not take their foot off the throttle. I agree...no way this stays within 29.

Im all over it at -27.5. Bought a half. Seen both teams play live in different games this year. (Utah fan after Mich myself), and has BYU and the over written all over it....
yOU ARE PROBABLY RIGHT, BUT WHAT IF YOU WERE THE byu COACH UP 34 -5 AT HALF. wHY NOT GIVE THE SECOND AND THIRD STRINGERS A CHANCE AGAINST THIS AWFUL SQUAD?

Unfortunately, the computers require a team to run up the score in this situation.
Regardless, the 2nd and 3rd stringers are much better than USU. Don't forget, they were probably recruited by USU and decided they would rather ride the pine at BYU than play for USU. I guess you could argue the other way and say the USU guys will have a chip on their shoulder because they were snubbed by BYU, but that chip will only carry them so far.
It is probably a trap line...usually when I am this convinced on a line it fails to cover, but I just can't see it going the other way.

BYU MUST run up scores against these lowly teams or again they will have ZERO chance at BCS BOWL... THey have the longest winning streak still by far and no respect.... (Mormon persecution still lives! :142smilie )
