probably know this iowa team as good as any, and i really don't understand the big fuss about betting iowa. just because some joker, dr Bob says iowa's the game of the year or something everybody is taking iowa. UNREAL. Do you know iowa has been bad the past couple years on the road. special teams need alot of help. cost them the pitt game. Star running back is the best player on the team is banged up. He's a horse, i kove that kid, he's the one bright spot. They have no speed on the outside, a quarterback who has'nt done anything and won the job because christianson has been terrible, but the line is not a typical iowa line. They play hard on defense but backs don't turn their heads on long passes. linebackers are the heart of team. On the road and banged up and the line is going against you and your not even getting a touchdown on the road. I will say this, michigan state normally plays down, iowa will play to the last play, SO are all you betting iowa because you think iowa is that good, OR is this more of a bet against michigan state which it really could be. I know it's not that some marketing handicapper sales person swaying all of you to all of a sudden love a game of the year on a average iowa team at best. good luck, ARROW:toast:

i was on Iowa early in the week, but not after seeing the line move. i honestly expected the line to swell beyond 11. mainly b/c iowa opened as a dog last week, then was bet to a favorite, but lost outright. once i saw the line moving against me, it became a no-play. i didn't realize dr. bob was on this game. also, and i don't have any numbers to back this up, even while iowa has been awful lately, they seem to be a pretty reliable play as a dog.

GL this week, Arrow.

Where does Dr. Bob say that Iowa is his GOY? He's one of the few touts that doesn't use cheesy jargon like GOY, lock, no-brainer, etc. He's been around for a very long time and he is one of the best college football cappers I've seen, and that includes people who charge or don't charge for their picks.

I understand your hesitancy because a lot of touts are scumbags who will say anything to get your money, but this guy has such an enormous following that he doesn't need to hype his picks to get people to subscribe. The fact that his picks move the lines a few points tells you he has a lot people playing his picks. Personally, I think he sometimes he relies a little too much on the technical side and doesn't factor in intangibles as much as he should, but he knows what he's doing.

As for me, I was on Iowa before I saw that he was on them. I play games mostly based on situation, and I love this spot for Iowa. Mich. St. is overdue for a clunker, and I expect Iowa to play well because they haven't looked good the last few weeks. And is Mich. St. really any better than Iowa? I wouldn't say they've had any impressive wins this year. And even though Iowa doesn't have a great offense, Mich. State's D gives up 123 a game on the ground and 230 a game in the air. I don't see Iowa having any problem scoring tomorrow.

Just my take. GL with whatevery you play...

seriously Dr. BOB might be good, it would be a lie if i told anybody i knew him or anybody else in the services. I went that route 25 years ago and never had a consistant winner, and used many of the names on here people ask for all the time. maybe he is good, but i have looked at records of these services everybody is asking for weekly and i think there was 6 services who had won two weeks in a row this year. that is pretty sad.
Sounds like you may know him and i will respect that and i appreciate you coming in my thread and giving me some good ole constructive critisism
we all need that at times! good luck this weekend ARROW:sadwave:

Arrow,

I didn't mean for my post to sound critical. If it came off that way, I apologize. I was just saying that Dr. Bob, over the years, has been one of the few touts who actually wins a lot more than he loses. But you're 100% correct. Most of those guys are sleazeballs and most of them suck at what they do. It's more about marketing and sales gimmicks to get people to buy their picks than it is winning games with good analysis. I don't subscribe to Dr. Bob and don't blindly tail his plays or anything like that, but it does make me feel a little better when I see I'm on the same side.

I wish you the best of luck on your plays this weekend, and the rest of the year! :mj06:

Well I have watched the Hawkeyes every play of every game this year and they are not very good.

I can not believe everyone is on the Hawkeyes this week.

I hope I am wrong.

No, they're not worldbeaters by any measure, but I haven't been impressed by MSU this year either. I think it will be a close game that could come down to a FG either way. But I'm definitely biased as I'm on Iowa. :mj07:

I sure hope you are right, Glenn.

I would love to see the Hawkeyes play a complete game on the road.

Good luck.

Nice write-up on the Hawkeyes, Arrow. Stanzi is a 1000 times the QB Christensen is, but as you say, he doesn't have any experience yet. Disagree with you on the heart of the defense and the whole team for what its worth...last year, Klinkenborg and the other LBs where the main men, this year its the two defensive tackles, Kroul and King that are the heart of the team.
Iowa is slow all over the field and especially in the defensive backfield. If for some reason Sparty can't establish the run, they should be able to throw on Iowa.
Line is down to 6 from an opening 9.5. Easy win and cover for Sparty today. Iowa's program is on a huge decline right now and I don't see anything changing soon as Ferentz has a huge contract that Iowa would have to eat if they were to make a change.
