BYU has played 7 straight quarters of horrendus football. Certainly not football deserving of their ranking. However...until the Utah game at the end of November, this is really their only test. If they really want to bust the BCS or whatever nonsense they are calling it these days, then this is not only a must win...but must be a convincing win.

Problem is, I'm not sure if they are up to it. Hall is a solid QB and Collie a good receiver, but their running game is not solid right now and their TE Pitta is playing hurt.

My thoughts are either TCU guts out a close one at home and dashes BYU's chances at a BCS bowl while exposing them as a pretender or BYU finally gets things rolling again and thumps a marginal TCU team on the road. Leaning to the latter over the former.

How's that for covering both sides?

I had the line at -1.5 and now at a pick today. 1.5 pts already!!! I figure BYU is gonna get hammered with money. Maybe this is the sharps hitting it. I really figure the ranked #8 will mean alot to squares. TCU is the play for sure...

pops made a good point. BYU has played like complete shit since the first quarter of the Utah St game. I'm just not ready to back them against a team on the road with a pulse.

I'm thinking some kind of teaser with TCU to get it over a td or at least 7. I never tease but I don't see TCU losing by more than 7 at home.

If TCU is really going to get pounded, I am going to sit back and let this thing get to a pickem and take the why. I think Mendenhal can outcoach Patterson. Really think it all comes down to BYU's ability to get their big running backs going to open up the pass. Something they haven't done for 7 quarters!

Call it square, public, or whatever you want kind of play...just think BYU is a better team with more to play for.

I have a feeling that not only is TCU gonna smack BYU in the mouth on thursday night, they'll also win the MWC.

I disagree there ThrowninPicks, because it's going to be the other way around. BYU's gonna smack TCU in the mouth. No way BYU will lose this game and I agree with BleedingPruple that this game will be won by 10+ by BYU. EASY WINNER BYU!!

Utah is better than them.... Definitely. Utah deserves the ranking they have.... BYU, not so much. BCS people hate BYU right now for being where they are but they do have the longest winning streak and I believe that is the ONLY reason they are top 10. I think Utah should jump them wherever BYU is in the rankings BEFORE these two teams play IF both win outright. Say, Utah #9, BYU #10 or whatever. That is IF both teams stay undefeated.....

This game IMO had BYU -7 or more written all over it. I think though that its not to get people on BYU because the books do know that TCU is better than their record..... Its gonna be a good game and I cant wait to watch.

I probably will sit back and let my newfound clients (I mean old time friends.... :142smilie ) decide which way I am rooting!

First, let me state that my ties are to TCU, graduated from there in '01. Have followed them pretty closely this year and made some good money on them, including fading them last week in a "look ahead" game @ Colo St. (wanted to fade BYU last week for the same reason, but couldn't bring myself to betting on a team as bad as NM).

I thought this line would come out somewhere in the BYU -4 to -6 range. Shocked to see it open at -2.5. Then thought that all the squares would pound BYU and get this up to ATLEAST -3.5. Just can't believe that the line has moved the other way and is now TCU -1.

2 years ago, BYU came to Ft. Worth and pounded TCU. I think that game went off around a pick or maybe TCU favor by a couple points. They seem to travel well and get up for big games. Also, have heard that BYU has bought 12,000+ tickets to the game (for whatever that is worth). Absurd for schools like this and a Thurs. night game. Guess those large mormon families will be out in full force.

Looking forward to a great game tomorrow night, but see BYU as the better team. I think they know what the stakes are for this game, and get this one done. Heart says TCU, wallet says BYU. Good luck whichever side you take.

Line opened @ BYU -2.5 and now I'm seeing TCU -1...

I'm still not convinced TCU is the play because their offense has been terrible. They only scored 13 against Colorado State last week.

TCU is 18-2 SU & 14-4 ATS their last 20 home games! TCU also has the better running game and they're far better defensively.

I'm playing TCU or staying away. Would consider BYU if the number hits 3.
