First website I went to was The Motley Fool. I picked up one of their books in an airport, read it on the plane, and was hooked on the concept. They mentioned their website.

The only room with a computer with internet in our fraternity house was the treasurer's for billing. I asked if he could show me how to get online (probably didn't use that term). He signed on, and I checked out www.fool.com. This was probably 1995-96.

that was one of my first isps as well.

I don't remember the first time I used the net, but I'm quite sure www.espn.com was probably one of the first websites I hit.

dont remember but remember the bills

we had to pay by the minute back then.

Got in the chat rooms and got hooked

I was getting bills for 300 month

They had such a racket going with that.

I was amazed when it went unlimited.

............................................................

the year was 1994

they were making millions and millions

People were using stolen credit cards to stay on line. it was nuts

only when competition kicked in did it slack up

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
I well remember the text-only Lynx browser I used at city library in KC in 1994.

only text, no mouse--you had to use arrow keys to move up and down, and know a bunch of key commands.

From that I got in habit of using key commands and still use 'em a lot...First graphical browser I used was Mosaic.

I first looked up info on Rainbow Family!

The browser was developed at Univ of KS and some folks still use it today, who have horrible bandwith and computers that can't handle the heavy graphic web pages.
