As CBS 2's Mike Puccinelli reports, the Chicago Sun-Times pointed out on Friday that Chicago has seen 426 homicides this year through Tuesday, compared with 417 in New York and 302 in Los Angeles.

At the end of 1998, Chicago made international headlines as the U.S. "murder capital" after surpassing New York's homicide totals for the first time ever. Chicago shed that dubious distinction when murders plummeted over the last decade.

There are more than 8 million people in New York, compared to slightly under 3 million in Chicago. The population of Los Angeles exceeds that of Chicago by more than 800,000.

Yeah... and 44 years after the investigation of the Warren Commission, Fox News is reporting that undisclosed sources have finally revealed the identity of the 2nd shooter on the grassy knoll as one "Barry H. Let's be honest, high murder rate is normally linked to socio-economic factors including poverty and lack of education. Why is this Obama's fault? Another obvious non-issue imo.

The past few prez elections I have watched the Dems grasp at straws, claim unfair treatment and whine about one bogus conspiracy or another. Now it appears it's the republican's turn. What ever happened to losing gracefully??

Panama?s tourism ministry says that in the last five years, nearly 6-million tourists have set foot in Panama, 395-thousand this January and February alone. With such a high number of visitors, it has to be expected that there will be some crimes committed against foreigners.

The data was released by the Panamanian Tourism Institute (IPAT) and indicates that in 2005 there were 265 reported cases of crimes against tourists. There were 330 such cases in 2006 and in 2007 the amount of reports rose slightly to 429. Even with the annual increase in reported incidents, the percentage of crimes against visitors remains at 0.03 percent.
