Here's an audio of Obama from 2001 discussing how best to redistribute the wealth:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iivL4c_3pck

Note the discussion isn't about whether or not it's right to redistribute wealth...but which manner would be the best way to do it!

He views this as economic justice for minorities.

This country has never had a flat income tax. The income tax rates have always redistrubted wealth.

United States of America... socialism since 1913.

How have we ever survived?

We survived basically on the 80/20 principal

80% paying for other 20%

under O plan estimates are about 47% won't be paying any taxes--if elected could see it 50/50 at end of term.

Sound bad??? yep but what's worse dems will be unbeatable in future if they can get 0 tax people to the polls.

Strange how guys don't mind spreading the wealth when it comes to the wealthy. Socialism at its finest but this is okay with the guys who walk around with hardons in their drawers thinking someday they will be a billionaire to.

True, but also take a look at the other taxes that have sprung up in the last 50 years.

The 47% that may not pay income taxes are now paying 5-10% sales taxes on everything they buy. Phone bill taxes, sewer taxes, state income taxes and on and on.

And for a poor person those taxes represent a far larger portion of their income than they do for rich people.

I agree that 47% not paying income taxes is a bit too much. I would be very interested to see if that is how it works out in the end.

I also wonder in European style socialism how the rates are tiered.

aren`t we all lucky that there will be a "price freeze" on goods and services when obama taxes the job providers and businesses that provide all the goods and services that we all use everyday?......

you say he can`t do that?.....well,whats gonna stop these businesses from passing on their expenses to the public?.....

/wow...never thought of that,didja?...

If Bush didn't screw things up so badly we would not be in this mess. Now you come in here and start busting on Obama before the guy even gets elected. You didn't seem to mind when Bush pushed his Redistribution of Wealth, the Bush Tax Cuts, that were and are a dismal failure. Like everything else he touched.

Sure I've thought of that, and I'm not in strong support of Obama's complete financial plan...

But I still can't quite figure out how HE is single handedly going to turn this country socialist/communist.

Every other president, congress, local and state government who passed taxes, redistributed wealth, corporate welfare, hand-outs to poor people... none of them were socialistic in any way shape or form.

But Obama... he is the big bad socialist.

Lacks nuance, if you as me.

stevie...unfortunately this whole mess originated with fannie mae and freddie mac....with acorn playing an extraordinary part in the fiasco...

and i provided the video...the words coming straight out of barney frank/maxine waters et al`s mouths proving who ran interference for the coming train wreck when the bush administration and even mccain were calling for some action.....

facts are facts..the video doesn`t lie...can`t be misconstrued....even if the media won`t report them...

unfortunatly many americans are either indoctrinated, extremely stupid or apathetic....

sorry...

now,the lazy ne`er do wells are gonna get just what they`re asking for...and what they`re asking for has always turned into a disaster...

this is what happens when a society becomes spoiled and sloth-like....they become soft......nice things come to easy...

thats why we have so many out-of -shape americans...exercise is hard work...can`t do that...

i only hope that in 4 years,it can be made right again...

btw...i wonder how many of the younger college educated types on this board`s grandparents would agree with them on obama....not they`re parents...their grandparents...the ones that worked hard and blazed the trail for them...

i bet they`d be appalled....ashamed...
