Rice -9.5 over Army ******* strong,strong play
Love this game despite everyone in the world also liking it.I know Army inside out and have won a lot of games going against them and with them.i have been waiting 3 weeks for this game. Again the line is off with the "gods" of Vegas.
Army will face a passing attack they have never seen before.. Clements As a soph at army 2 yrs ago he led them to a 48-14 victory.It's now 2 yrs later and Rice has a spread option attack that is 7th in the nation in passing.Rice has 2 big time Wr's in Dillard and Casey casey is 6'4 and number 2 in the nation .Ugo there Rb is a threat when the Owls run the ball on rare occasions.Army defense will have a big problem trying to match up with this spread offense.Army defense has played really well there past few games.But they will have to blitz to put any pass rush on Clements.and by doing that it puts dillard and co in a lot of 1/1 situations.Armys DB's will be in trouble.They are not athletic enough to stay with these greyhounds.Armys defense is 10th in the nation in pass rush but they have not gone against to many passing teams.being 10th isn't really what it looks like.Last week vs Air Force they didn't even attempt a pass.Armys run defense is good but something has to give today.
Army offense since they put the 'wish" in is 3-3. But in the last 2 games Mooney there big FB hasn't gone over 100 yds.Bowden the Qb has gotten better and can run with the ball but teams are now centering on his run and the FB dive.The problem with Army is it leads the nation in fumbles.They have lost 18.Turning the ball over kills there long drives that are time consuming.Do that today and Clements will connect for a quick TD.Bowden cannot pass the ball. He has no accuracy after 10 yds. any kind of pass is a quick slant.Army is last in the country in passing offense,116th in scoring and 114th in turnover margin.
Rice defense is there weakness.They are one of the worst passing defenses in the country...but since army can't pass rice gets the break.
One of Armys problem is if they get behind they have to bring in Carson Williams the passing qb..holy cow..he was benched early in the season because he couldn't run the option..so army now brings him in for there passing plays...he's so bad there is no catching up...
Last week UTEP ran all over Rices defense avg 6 yds per carry.Army comes in with the 9th rushing offense in the country.But UTEP had a passing off.Army does not. I think Army will score..but Rice will outscore them.Armys needs a big pass rush vs Clements.Army db's will have there hands full with talented WR's. Rice is 6-3 only losing to Vandy,texas and Tulsa...going to a bowl...Hatfield Rices coach knows option football. lets not forget that..he was AF's coach..
I love Rce today to win this by 2 or 3 td's and not run it up.

WKU lost to NT 51-40. had the ball on the NT 1 yd line with 3 downs to go with 30 sceonds. Two tries...no gain. Next play ..intercepted NT 97 yd td.

NT let WKU score 40 pts..FAU has won 2 in a row. Nt defense can't stop anyone...offense woke up but vs the Hilltopers
