Those two streets are pretty rundown and I wouldn't hang around there after dark (or really any time), but the actual crime rate isn't that bad even around that area.

That said, about 3 months ago, not far from there, a cop was shot and killed by an iilegal immigrant who had all sorts of warrants for pretty serious shit. (he was killed on the spot by the slain mans partner)

This city was in a frenzy.

They had cops at intersections all over the place for 5 days after it happened with buckets for donations for his family. They raised over 300 grand- 1, 5, 10 dollars at a time.

Then on the sixth day, the cops were all in the intersections again, just to say thanks and refusing donations, but people were throwing money out the window at them.

I was waiting in the airport in Miami with a gentleman from NYC (he was 65 or so)i got talking to him and told him i was hoping to go to NYC sometime and he said "why' and said pretty much everything Kosar said except he added muggy also..i don't know never been there

Speaking of 'worsts', the Miami Airport HAS to be the worst in America in every possible way.

to add on, the only thing miami has going for it is weather and south beach, the city is an absolute hole with less english speaking than ive ever seen, and the biggest a-holes ive ever seen...but it is close to the keys so thats good

yeah, that's good people donated....i hope to think that would happen most places if a cop was shot, just maybe not with a bucket but people mailing donations in  church and religion plays a part in that too........Only way I knew bout those areas (no i wasnt buying blow, lol) was driving the always lovely west coast to east coast route 80 drive through lovely clewiston and belle glade, oh the memories! as chris rock said, anytime theres an mlk boulevard, its usually best to leave the area!
