My wife and I along with her family are adopting a family this year for Christmas. The reason I bring it up is to see if there is any interest here to adopt a family (or however many if there's enough interest) as a group here.

As in the troops packages that we sent, I would be willing to take the charge on this if you guys want. The Catholic Charities group here in Nashville has a list of families to choose from that we used for picking ours.

Just throwing it out there. If there is no interest, no biggie.

Whether or not we do it as a group here, this is a great way to personally show humanity (instead of your government forcing it on you).

My wife and I are doing this in Dallas this year. It kills me to think of kids waking up and not having anything from Santa.

I will be up for helping as a group with MJ members as well though. Just let me know what you want to do.

we do an angel tree every year at church and give to a couple of kids. Good idea to get this out there, jason!

Above the Clouds....
We've been "adopting 2 children" at Xmas for the past 30 plus years. There are many local groups that handle this. Makes us feel good knowing that a few children are getting gifts on Xmas morning,

This is a year round event for me.

I hire any and all comers. It makes for an interesting sometimes train wreck of a work day. As I posted here a couple weeks back, my current project is a 24 year old, 4 little ones, gf's only working as a lunchroom lady, he hasn't worked in two years, and he owes thousands to Chicago on his vehicle. No experience or training needed. Says he has tried to get a job at tons of places but has had no takers till I came along. Some last. Others don't.

Also have another man (lets call him a foreign national) working once/twice a week to support his multiple kids along with his full time gig.

Also have my friends son (for the last 10 years or so since he was 8) do weekend work to give him some kind of sense of work.

I have cut ALL other charitable acts in my life till I see how big my fed taxes will increase.
