so, sounds like we're going to get another stimulus check. Wonder how much this one will be for? We should have a stimulus get-together in Las Vegas next summer to celebrate. :mj06:

I understand the new "stimulus" will be in the form of monies to the states for infrastructure projects--the economists have determined the last stimulus payments directly to the taxpayers was a bust. here is a bit of what I've read about it.

Laura Tyson, an economic adviser to Obama, said a program may be used to finance highway projects, alternative-energy initiatives, tax cuts, education programs and aid to state governments struggling to balance their budgets.

Tyson said the package could total as much as $600 billion over the next two years as the administration seeks to offset a decline in consumer spending. She said the size of the proposed stimulus has grown as the economic outlook has worsened.

Al, sorry to correct you. It is not Bush's fault we are not gertting Stimulus checks. It is his fault we ARE getting them. In one form or another.

Sorry but this happened under his watch. Six years of which he had everything he wanted. How many veto's has he signed? Two I believe. How could anyone blame him?:142smilie

well, exactly what DID you say???

that all of the things that obama promised on the campaign trail will not come about.....ie....don't think he will drastically change bush's foreign policy once he sees the daily intelligence reports & that is why he is keeping gates as sect'y of defense....the bottom line is that there will not be that much change...& many people who voted for obama will be disappointed....

AR he already sees that more spending at the moment is sadly a non-factor.That jobs and repair work might jump-start things a bit.

Will it work??I personally think its a good idea.
More spending it risky, but this plan will also create jobs in the process repairing schools, bridges, etc...

How can we possibly think about improving our infrastructure and creating jobs? We have spent too many 100's of billions of dollars lining the pockets of defense contractors rebuilding Iraq. Foolish OBama.
