thoughts on this game? am i missing something? evansville is 6-1, but lost to the only decent team they played (butler). according to sagarin, they've played the 282nd toughest schedule in the country. and their next game is at north carolina. the hilltoppers have already won at louisville. they've also beat southern illinois, georgia, and tulane. i know none of them are strong teams this year, but they're no worse than evansville.

oh, and the line has risen, from evansville -1 to -2.

of course, any time a game looks too easy, it probably isn't. the purple aces almost have to be the play here.

any input is welcome.

I saw this too and thought the Hilltoppers looked good. Couldn't find any injuries.

toppers just aren't very good this year. Nice looking wins on paper, but really, they aren't a very good team, at least nothing like last year. I have no idea about Evansville though.

PS UofL game was in Nashville (neutral site).

sixfive, have you seen them play this year? i haven't seen them yet. western kentucky has built a somewhat solid mid-major program over the years. but this line jumped out at me as way too easy. and when i saw evansville played nc next... wow.

yes, I've seen them play. They have their usual good guard play and not much on the inside. Evans is the tallest starter, and at 6'9", he only weighs 190 :sadwave: Pettigrew is a nice swing-man, but he's inconsistent. Western is certainly capable of winning and covering here, but this is certainly not a 'bad' line.

sixfive, thank you again. this line strikes me as begging for wku money. i think pretty much everybody knows wku beat louisville, who was #3 at the time. and they see them getting a point or two at evansville... and looking at evansville's schedule, there's certainly nothing that jumps out at you. plus, you'd think the purple aces would be looking ahead to playing the tarheels in 5 days.

i think hudson is onto something... looks like evansville is the play.

sixfive, thank you yet again for your input on this. i don't remember ever having a game where i absolutely knew i was going to win for the last 19 minutes of the game. i say 19, because i've had teams with huge halftime leads, and by the 10-minute mark the game was right around the spread. but the 2nd half started just like the first half, so there was never any doubt. it's nice to have one game like that.

box... as far as devendorf... i've always thought he was incredibly stupid. i don't just mean as a basketball player. i mean, he's always struck me as a stupid, stupid person. so i figured something like this was just a matter of time. i wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being addition by subtraction for the orange (assuming his appeal happens soon, and he loses). i think rautin (i'm probably spelling that wrong) will step into the void and do fine.
