Hi everyone, hope the holidays are treating you well. I did get my tile and I've got a friend of a friend to install it. Thanks for your input on that.

Here are new questions.

1) Golf -- I need to get some clubs, essentially for a beginner. I've played about 15 times and taken lessons, but that was like ten years ago. Please advise on good clubs. I want a decent product, but nothing outrageously expensive or cheap.

2) I need to get a gift card for a guy friend of mine who just got married. I want this to be geared toward his interests, as it is he who is my friend, not his wife. He's a co-worker/softball buddy. What's a good 'guy' place to get him a gift card?

Hi Kelly,

I know this weird guy who actually employs what they call a 'life advisor.' Get my email from Jack if you're interested and i'll get the advisors phone number for you.

Good luck.

Smart ass. I don't need a life advisor, I need a golf advisor and a present advisor!

What better place to ask about golf than Madjacks.

I hope the holidays find you less crabby than usual.

Since Agent left, the entire forum's down to one good golfer.

and get him a Visa gift card - and maybe you shouldn't be so forward now that he's married. You may think you're giving him a gift card - but he's thinking you want to get into his pants. JMHO

If he is in to handyman things--gift card to Home Depot or Lowe's??
Golf Clubs I would start with either a medium of the line Callaway or Taylor Made

You're being awfully presumptuous here. How do you know that she *doesn't* want to get in his pants?
YOU GUYS ARE TERRIBLE! Of course, what did I expect? No, he's like a brother. His wife is cool, too. I'm looking for something a little more thoughtful than just a Visa gift card. I thought maybe Best Buy, maybe they're buying a new TV or entertainment center for their life together....

Those are great ideas. They will need to fix up their home. I like that. Thanks, Hawkeye.

Once you go the gift card route, you kind of give up on "thoughtful" as describing your gift. All you've done is limited where your crush can spend his gift. And if his wife is so cool, then why don't you get them a "we" gift, so that he doesn't think that you want to get into his pants.

1) Golf sucks. Don't get into it while you still can. Times are hard and there better things to do than pissing away money on future cemetaries. Guys you'll meet there most likely aren't good prospects. Unless you want some ol' fart with money that's soon to kick off. Golfing isn't going to bring you any closer to Kosar. He seems to also understand it's as lame as marbles or pitching pennies. But his attraction for sleeping on his feet compels him to play the sport with others.

2) Get him a gift card for a sports store in the area or some other outlet to by something with his favorite team on it.

Your forum stalker should be here shortly to explain how he killed his last squirrel with his bare hands and burried it in his yard.

Adams Golf makes a good hybrid set that would probably fit u well. Forgiving, lightweight, very good value IMO. They make a women's set that is a quality set of clubs (girlfriend has 'em, i have hit em, they r good clubs for the price). U can get these sets driver through sand wedge and so that is another reason it is a good deal.

They arent pink or any of that shit, either. For the love of God dont get pink clubs.

If u just need a set of irons, take a look at Cobra, too. Their clubs are getting better... another good 'value set'. gL :)
