Not sure why I'm even in this thread... :0corn

...but I actually don't mind him.

Sure, talks too much, but makes sense, has the odd semi-interesting story from playing days...
...good understanding/analyser of plays.

Far worse out there each week. kurby

i can't stand the man but the one thing i do like about him is that he speaks his mind especially when it comes to making calls both ways. Like last night when Garrard didn't get the first down when he slipped and fell and yet got the hands to the face penalty. then when it happened worse to Peyton and he didn't get the call Collinsworth wasn't afraid to say that the refs weren't making the call both ways.

other than that he's tom brady's lover boy

Collinsworth seems to be one of those divisive figures like Dennis Miller. Miller was hated by those who think Football is Very Important and to be Taken Seriously and never joked about. Collinsworth is hated because he's intelligent and skinny. Football players are supposed to be large, loud and obvious.

No I rather enjoy an intelligent person I don't think he brings anything to the table as an announcer:shrug:

I hope your kidding:mj07:

actually i like him alot, i think he is very fair in calling the game and has inside football smarts from his playing and contacts..i don't like announcers that are company men or root for a specific team like most do..also like boomer esiason but the nfl/networks didn't like his candid honest informed views..:)

IMHO..

smooth crisp delivery that covers the why and therefores throughout the game.

There is no one better in the booths today that covers the x's and o's involved at every critical point in the games.

He would be #1 on any network if he didn't tell the truth all the time.

he and Al Michaels would be awesome..

I agree...bob papa is great too...I remember him doing the Giants radio when I was a kid...

I'm just thankful that Bryant Gumbel is gone...he was the worst ever ever ever...ever

Under a mask.
Has been in the booth a long time.
When he first started out I couldnt stand him.
But think over time I have gotten used to his views on the game.

I guess I have gotten use to him.
He is pretty knowledgable about the sport.
